I'm from Minneapolis, and the vast majority of Muslims I interact with here are Somali and there's a big language barrier, so it's tough to discuss more sensitive and nuanced topics. I'd love to know if anyone from the chans here has an idea, do Muslims like her? Are they just glad to have a nominal Muslim in Congress, or do they genuinely like her? Are they actually aware of what the Democratic platform is, let alone The Squad's? I honestly have no idea.

Some like her, some don't. Muslims aren't a monolith. There are Republican Muslims, Democrat Muslims, conservative Muslims, liberal Muslims, right-wing, left-wing, etc etc. Muslims in America tend to be fiscally conservative while socially liberal, though some of the more orthodox believe women should not be elected to office at all.
Rep. Omar is socially leftist and fiscally liberal, what folks call a "Progressive". She is popular within a certain demographic, but has no global appeal.

I've honestly studied Islam related things for like 10 hours or so. It's not long, but it's 10 hours more than the average American. I moved to Minneapolis 3 years ago and there are just a ton of Muslims here so I started researching it. And I tell people, a lot of people don't even realize how Islam got started, they think Muhammad must've been some conquerer like whoever, but I tell them it was mainly just about fighting pagan idol worship in Mecca and other places, which is a goal most Christians and Jews would support.

Well, that's nice. I've studied it for 25 years and practiced Islam for 18 years. However, length of study in Islam doesn't mean much when it comes to political affiliation. Democrats don't have anything anti-Islam in their policies or platform. Republicans are very anti-Islam and their policies and platform reflects that. Given the choice ….

Democracy is not our system, we believe the highest good to be tawhid (monotheism, worship of Allah alone) and thw greatest evil to be shirk (polytheism, idolatry), and Allah is a legislator who gave us His Shari'ah to apply as the law, therefore, legislators other than Him cannot be obeyed without falling into shirk, which expells someone from Islam and makes them a non-Muslim apostate, those who participate in this, be they voters who elect legislators other than Allah, or legislators themselves, have expelled themselves outside of the fold of Islam. I personally hope she leaves this system and becomes Muslim again in sha' Allah.

Communism could never exist in an Islamic society. Communists are the antithesis of Islam. They forcefully educate people to be atheists and forbid the teaching of religion to ones's children. They are responsible for the deaths of over 100 million people. The Prophet PBUH put private property and free trade above all else, even when people were starving, he refused to introduce price fixes.
The people said: Messenger of Allah , prices have shot up, so fix prices for us. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah is the one Who fixes prices, Who withholds, gives lavishly and provides, and I hope that when I meet Allah, none of you will have any claim on me for an injustice regarding blood or property. (Kitab Al-Ijarah 1296)
His economics were closer to that of Ayn Rand, rather than Karl Marx. With the exception of the issue of charity. Rand forbade charity, while the Prophet PBUH vehemently encouraged it. Communism is legalized theft of life and property, and has no place in Islam.

Slavery and the murder of Muslims has nothing to do with free market economics. Did you know that the Prophet PBUH did not impose any taxes? Besides zakat of course, but other than that, there were no taxes as Ayn Rand proposed.
As for economic colonialism, I think you are conflating the issue with imperialism. Buying and selling goods free from government interventions has nothing to do with this. Businesses should be able to operate free from burdensome, inane regulations. That is when they are not endangering the environment or other people, as was also the Prophet PBUH's way.
True capitalism has never been tried except in the early Muslim caliphate. As for the past half a century, it has been crony capitalism. Government picks winners and losers and exploits and destroys the environment for personal gain. Our entire economy is based on usury. It isn't unreasonable to propose a no-tax free market economy, it is a sunnah.

Inane regulations like saying that children cannot operate a lemonade stand without a business license. Or the overly cumbersome registrations and taxes imposed on just about everything, from land to vehicles to income. But I suppose you have never operated a business yourself? Do you know how hard it is and the amount of effort you have to put into wasteful regulations? And the regulators themselves are all crooked, looking for any way they can screw you over as a form of job security. But big business can get away with their misdeeds because they paid off the politicians. That is the way it works with democracy. Who do you think writes the environmental and other regulations? The big business contributors of course. And they can get away with all the destruction and pollution they want, but if you spill a 5 gallon bucket of oil the government will be on your *ss so fast your head will spin. You will have to pay for proper cleanup and a hefty fine. While a pipeline company can spill a million barrels of oil into a river and not have anything happen to them. Democracy and Capitalism do not work together. It could be said that Democracy doesn't work at all. Ayn Rand was a b*tch, but she made a few good points. Free market capitalism was tried, during the early Muslim Caliphate. People who pay jizya do not have to pay zakat.

Ah, ok, so it's more for the parents than the kids. The parents would be responsible for teaching their children to sell lemonaid that is safe to drink and the vendor license is part of that guarantee.
I suppose it makes sense. After all, your parents teach you how to do pretty much everything and you rarely know the background stuff. It's a little misleading, though. Parents have to set up utilities in order to teach their children to bathe, but nobody would ever say, "Children cannot be clean unless they set up an account with Water and Sewerage Board".

There are stacks of books of new regulations passed every year. Even if you ask the people making them, "How could anyone follow all of these?" they respond with "I don't know. There probably is something as inane as "children are only clean and can go to school when." It wouldn't be surprising.
As soon as you get government involved with something it starts to fail. Like laws created by the FDA. Kids cannot operate a lemonade stand without the proper paperwork, but there is an acceptable amount of rat feces that you can eat in your cornmeal.
And they are corrupt and incompetent. Like when they were going to build a building in Afghanistan, all the contractors subcontracted it out and took some of the money. By the time they were done something like 50 million dollars had been spent on one wooden beam. The rest fell to government leeches. Things like this don't happen in private industry. .
