What do you guys think of the interpretation of the beginning of Surah Isra being a prophecy?

I know, but look at the argument though.
Basically the part of the Surah, Allah says that there are two times when Bani Israil are misguided and cause corruption, and when that happened Allah sends servants to destroy them.
Islamic scholars point at instances in history that these ayats could be referencing. Yasir Qadhi puts forth the idea that the first instance is clearly in past tense, but the second instance does not indicate that it has taken place yet, and that past scholars attributed them to instances in history due to the geopolitical landscape during their lives where they probably couldn't conceive of another Jewish state ever being established again. But now theres Israel.
>(17:7): If you act rightly, it is for your own good, but if you do wrong, it is to your own loss. “And when the second warning would come to pass, your enemies would ˹be left to˺ totally disgrace you and enter the Temple ˹of Jerusalem˺ as they entered it the first time, and utterly destroy whatever would fall into their hands.
They translated it as temple, but the word used is masjid, the scholars agree that its talking about masjid Al Aqsa.
So if we take it as a prophecy, it seems like its saying that its going to get worse, the Zionists are going to take over Al Aqsa, they're going to build their own structures inside the masjid, and then there will be a time when Allah's servants will come and destroy them.

Why not? Is that based on personal opinion or scholarly opinion? Because scholars have been trying to interpret these prophecies forever. Umar (RA) went to conquer Baytul Maqdis based upon the prophecy that was promised by our Prophet (SAW). The Ummayad Caliph Muawiya led the first siege on Constantinople based on the prophecies told by our Prophet (SAW).

Yes, there is a conscription law (of which 26% of civilians were exempt from btw), but people who went to boot camp and served the bare minimum (never saw combat) would not be considered enemy combatants in this current conflict. Besides, a combatant, by definition, has to be active, so inactive people in reserve units do not count (fyi the majority of conscripts do not go into reserve units).
People who have not joined the army yet should also be taken to account.

The first verse in the Qur'an directly about Jews is 2:40 where God is addressing them and telling Jews to remember His favors on them and a covenant that is between them. Generally when it's about Jews, God talks about their history, how and why He bestowed favors on them, why He cursed them. God also talks about the psychology of Jews and how they behave and that at some point they projected their own flaws onto Him.
