Hello to all of you in /islam/, my greetings and best wishes on behalf of your Christian neighbours and brothers.
I wish all of you a most blessed Ramadan, and hope it treats you well. Hopefully your first Iftar has been delicious; it is around this time of the month when I miss my old neighbours from Algeria most strongly.
In these uncertain and divisive times, in which it seems that hatefulness and ignorance becomes more and more dominant as the days go by, it is always good to keep in mind that there is more that unites us than divides us.
We know that Christianity and Islam have much in common, and while we certainly disagree on many matters, I find it best and most productive to celebrate what binds us together, rather than condemn that which drives us apart.
Forgive me if my Arabic is rusty, it has been a while.
