I'm not a muslim,but I am a fan of combat sports and I was wondering,is MMA or boxing considered haram? I mean I wouldn't think it is,but they do spar with each other and fight for money. If I read correctly online that's a sin.

Khabib's father was a high ranked soldier in the Soviet Army and fought in it against Muslims in Shishan. He was a murtad.
As for Khabib himself, he went to meet Putin with his father multiple times, as they were his open supporters and VIP's. Also he met with other tawagheet such as Sheikh Zayed, who is well known for supporting oppression against Muslims.
As if this wasn't enough, Khabib uses his martial art skills to train the Russian law enforcements and the army itself aswell (there is video footage of it).
Not only is his income haram due to him showing 'awrah, but his existence too due to him being a supporter of tawagheet.

As long as you're not using it to lead you to that which is haram, then sports are encouraged. Physical activity is a good thing.

Wrestling is allowed, but not striking sports.

This is an area which Islamic scholars are too experienced with, so there are counter points and cases to be made. MMA as a real sport is only like 30 years old itself, so the world is learning too.
Basically the hadith says that if theres a heated altercation between Muslim brothers, don't hit each other in the face. But MMA isn't a heated altercation, its training and development of combat, and the only way to know whether what you're training actually works is to test it out in a real fight.
Even just 20 years ago, we didn't know that so much of our martial arts were nonsense, until we brought it into the cage. MMA techniques have evolved significantly compared to just 10 years ago.
So theres a case to be made here, and its something that Islamic scholars should definitely look into, though I would say boxing is haram.

There's hadith about not hitting a brother in the face, but that's in a certain context as has been explained in this thread already.
The main thing I find wrong about MMA is the fact that the men don't cover more of their bodies, if Khabib and Co. did that I would be fine with it but I don't know if the UFC would let them. They're supposed to cover at least from the navel to below the knees.

Khabib sort of has to meet with Kadyrov and Putin and other guys. Sure it'd be great if he took some principled stance and rejected Putin and the israeli supporting sheikhs of arabia but doing so would probably be not only career suicide but would probably ruin the lives of his entire family and crew.
It would be best if he weren't being pragmatic but being pragmatic in politics and just meeting people isn't the same as being a supporter of tawagheet

how is boxing haram, if it is practiced like any other martial art? I understand if you expose too much skin with the trunks or let ego and fame take you over, but learning boxing as a sport is within Halal limits assuming you learn in self defense.
