Should we advertise this board to other places? Im pretty sure theres a lot of people that don't know 8ch came back up a while a go.

But at the same time it might bring in a different crowd of people, changing the tone of this place, that a lot of us may not like.

I agree with advertising. Plus, its hard to even look up 8chan on (google) now so the only stuff they can find is articles on Le EBIC Hacker Terrorist Chan Strikes Again. @Abu.anon on instagram is a person who advertises the /islam/ board, but it hasn't been extremely sucessful.

Well, 8chan doesn't exist anymore, so it's pointless to search for it. 8kun.top and 9chan.tw are the only two official /islam/ boards run by the original 8chan owner.

You have that backwards. r/islamicsub was niche. It only allowed one specific kind of Muslim and all others were banned. Also, it was on reddit, the single most degenerate site on the entire internet. This board is inclusive of all Muslims, so it's not "niche".

I agree with this brother >>41029, r/islamicsub was catered to a niche Islamic viewpoint, arguably an extremist view, where its members would rather see the death of those who opposed their views, rather than changing their hearts and minds. Though I also have to agree that there was still some good discussions there that were allowed to happen, unlike on the other muslim subs. But ultimately I'd have to say Reddit is far more degenerate, it promotes a singular liberal point of view, where whoever opposes is censored, and the nature of how its platform works discourages open discussion, encourages censorship. The subreddit r/AgainstHateSubreddit which got r/IslamicSub banned off the site, polices subs around reddit, and tries to get subs banned that oppose their leftist ideals. The way imageboards work, discourage intermingling between boards, at least relative to reddit, and other than some ideolgies and maybe snuff vids, there isn't anything on this site that you can't already see on reddit.

and yes it did happen, some brothers saying death to homosexuals and that murtads should be executed, it wasn't the majority opinion of the sub, but it did attract those kinds of people. And even I admit reddit is really biased in how they choose to handle subs, r/IslamicSub was a small sub with a seemingly minority extremist following, so they had no issue banning them.

I agree with you brothers that it wasn't that bad, there were a lot of good brothers there that were really passionate, but it also attracted a few bad apples who were preaching "death to" so and so.

Whatever your opinion of it is, whether they were LARPing, the fact is that those comments were there, the moderation on the sub was loose enough to let those slip, whether you agree with it or not, if Reddit admins and site owners see this stuff they won't hesitate to bring down the hammer, their ideals are too left leaning and their views too PC, there is no fair trial with them, they've banned subs for lesser controversies.

All the popular muslim subs, r/Islam, r/MuslimLounge, r/MuslimMarriage, r/Izlam, are strict with their moderation both when it comes to extremist views/call to violence, and also about views that go against Islam, thats why those groups are still alive on reddit and growing.

Stepping in to clarify a couple of things:

1] Yes, I WILL report criminal activity, even if it's a Muslim. If I see a Muslim robbing a bank or stealing a car, I will call the cops. If someone is posting on this board about committing a crime, the post will be reported if I feel it is a credible post.

2] People from r/islamicsub are welcome on this board, provided they follow the rules. r/islamicsub tends to be anti-Shi'a, though, and this board welcomes Shi'a. However, being sectarian does not nullify one's deen.

3] Exercising your right to vote in a democratic nation is not shirk. It is the only way to effect change and have one's voice heard. Standing idly by and letting your country oppress Islam when you had the chance to vote the person/policy down isn't shirk either, but it is you being as asshat. In a country like the US, legislation isn't made by Allah, it's made by people. Those people are voted into office. It is the duty of every Muslim American who cannot move to an Islamic nation to vote.

4] Anyone may advertise this board anywhere. I don't mind.

I think that's all.

Edited to clarify [3].

Whether you agree with executing them or not is not the point. If your goal is to keep a subreddit alive, you can't have people making statements like that, the reddit admins will be quick to ban your sub for it.

Aside from that, its an ignorant statement to make, "death to so and so", as Muslims we should not be taking pride in executing people.

So, if the US proposes a law declaring Qur'an illegal and the execution of Muslims, I should just sit there and do nothing instead of, you know, going to vote down that law? Or should I wait until the law is passed and have to watch my brothers live in fear?

Evil triumphs when good men refuse to act.

>So, if the US proposes a law declaring Qur'an illegal and the execution of Muslims, I should just sit there

no you should arm yourself and defend yourself, as you are able

>Evil triumphs when good men refuse to act.

yes and you are not acting by the shariah, but by your whims

evil (kufr) has triumphed because muslims do not act

This argument is pretty weak, since the prophet PBUH said :

«فَلَنْ أَسْتَعِينَ بِمُشْرِكٍ» “I do not seek help from a polytheist (Mushrik)” (reported by Muslim from Aisha (ra)).

And from Aisha(ra) in Abu Dawud and Ibn Maja: «إِنَّا لا نَسْتَعِينُ بِمُشْرِكٍ» “We do not want any help from a polytheist (Mushrik)”

and his words: «لاَ نَسْتَعِينُ بِالْكُفَّارِ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ» “We do not seek help from the disbelievers against the polytheists” (reported by Ibn Abi Shayba from Sa’id b. Al- Mundhir)

Therefore, it is forbidden to seek the assistance of the disbelievers (Mushrikeen) as a state or to have alliance with them for the above-mentioned evidences.

«خرج رسول الله r حتى إذا خلَّف ثنيَّة الوداع إذا كتيبة قال: من هؤلاء؟ قالوا بني قينقاع وهو رهط عبد الله بن سلام قال: وأسلموا؟ قالوا: لا، بل هم على دينهم، قال: قولوا لهم فليرجعوا، فإنّا لا نستعين بالمشركين»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out until he passed Thaniyya al-Wada’ when there was a squadron. He said: ‘Who are these?’ They said: ‘Banu Qaynuqa and they are the company of Abdullah bin Salam.’ He said: ‘Have they embraced Islam?’ They said: ‘Rather they are on their deen.’ He said: ‘Tell them to return for we do not seek assistance from the polytheists.”

So basically, you can't rely on a kaffir to help you (i.e voting for him) against another kaffir. Pic related is more detailed in the exceptions when muslims are in power according to the 4 madhabs

I am sunni, not rafidi.

And now, we sunnis do not believe the caliph is to be elected.

In fact, what we believe is that the shura council, which is composed of the best scholars with expertise, select the best from among them to rule.

It is not something applicable to secular liberal democracy.

It can be the current caliph himself, like in the case of Abu Bakr (ra) selecting Umar (ra), or by conquest like the abbasids. These scholars would have to be experts in their field and warriors with jihad experience, they must have knowledge, can't have bad character, be liars, done any major sin in the past. And if the ummah is scattered, it is enough for a few muslims to pledge to a scholar and it is compulsory on the rest of the ummah, to preserve unity. In the end the scholars & the caliph are held accountable to shariah, if they disobey it they face the consequences equally as a peasant. Honest scholars are few and not much known, but they exist.

So it's the complete opposite to liberal democracy, since the muslims cannot change or add in shariah law.

It's a concept that some people can't grasp. I know a lot of people who came to Islam through Sufi teachings and figured Islam was more a spiritual awakening and less of a physical journey. While I realize that there is no wrong way to come to Islam, the people who show up at the mosque with the "hippie watered down" version in their heads are often shocked by how it really works and leave immediately. And, no, that's not a slam against Sufism or the Sufi scholars and teachers, but people in the west don't seem to realize that you can't just be Sufi - that it's not a branch of Islam - and when you try to explain it to them, they can't wrap their heads around it and return to their familiar Christian churches.
