I don't know what the halal teachings are in Islam, but I know quite a few Christian (mostly Eastern Christians) and, particularly, Jewish theologians tend to view Hell as less a literal place of eternal torture and more a state of separation from God, or in the case of Eastern Christians, Heaven and Hell are the same place, that is, going to face the full power of God, and without that faith, you'll face it without protection and suffer as a result.
In any case, I don't find it all that useful to think about the details of the afterlife, since it's not something we can know in this life. Any time someone starts trying to fill in those gaps in our knowledge with needless detail, it just sound ludicrous the more you think about it. Like the idea of Heaven being a place where you lay in the grass listening to harp music for all eternity. You wouldn't want to do that for five minutes while you're alive, so what makes you think you'd want to do it for eternity. Same with Hell. Don't get so caught up in the details. These are things that are beyond our mortal comprehension. Just focus on being a good, faithful person in this life.

Christians also have a similar concept of hell to muslims, and jews lie because they know they will go to hell.
Heaven & hell are beyond imagination, but they are better & worst than you can imagine.
It's not as basic as listening to music. You are thinking in a 3D way. Same for hell, it's not just fire.
In heaven you have an unlimited expanse for yourself, your own kingdom where you can do as you wish, there is a social life and common places for other people. Everyone can share and be at more than two places at once, while fully experiencing both. It's a place where time has no weight, since it passes quickly when you have fun. It get's better every time and never stops getting better. Every bite tastes better than the next, every time you stare at your wife she looks more beautiful. Imagine if you owned ireland and you tried to explore it all on foot, it would take you a while, now imagine a whole planet, or bigger. Heaven is like that but infinite, you will never run out of things to do. And best of all you have constant access to Allah, my guess is you can even ask to see what he's creating next, just like angels were witnesses to many of his works.
In hell, it's the complete opposite, not only heat, but extreme cold, high pressures, deep falls, you actually float, the sound is horrible & destroys your eardrums, the sights are terrifying but your eyes are ripped open, sometimes it's deafening silence, complete separation from Allah after he tells them he hates them more than they hate themselves. Complete separation from begging to the people of paradise, seeing others enjoy the party while you are left out is another torture.
