I don't do body armor. From March to November it's tropical heat down here and that would be suicide. It may protect me from a bullet, but it won't protect me from dying in a pool of my own sweat. As a primary defense, I can legally open carry a sidearm and/or a blade (like a machete) and, of course, cameras are a great secondary defense. If I die, maybe at least someone will find the killer.
We just have to be wary of what we do.
