The Quran was compiled into book form with the largest Surahs in the beginning and the shorter Surahs at the end. Different verses of different Surahs were revealed at different times.
The Quran sometimes jumps around from topic to topic. Different parts of the stories of the Prophets and other topics are spread out in different Surahs. If you listen to the audio of the original Arabic recitation followed by a translation, you will appreciate its eloquence, power and beauty. Although it cannot be entirely translated to any other language, you will get the general idea. A lot of its subtle meanings get lost in the translation.

I don't know any organisation like that, there's the normal one and the chronological one, but organizing the verses by story would mix up the surahs, which is not allowed. Read it completely, there is a wisdom behind it, and you can make connections with other verses and that helps understand it more.
