Why won't the majority of Muslim women wear the hijab as prescribed by Sharia? (pic related)

The Muslim women I know and see all wear the hijab. Where do you see them without it?

Muslim women don't wear that garment in your pic because covering the face and hands is not necessary. You should learn the difference between hijab and burqa.

I think they would if they were more educated in islam and also if there was less social pressure to do it, i.e more muslim women wearing it like this. Inshallah we become guided.

And you should learn the proper definition of khimaar, hijab and niqab. From actual scholarly sources, not from media outlets like huffingtonpost or from works of orientalist scholars or from sites like leddit.

Depends on what you mean by "majority". But for the most part it's probably because of the lack of religious knowledge and social pressure.
>>28108
Nowadays, even in muslim countries, many people look down on it. As actual history becomes overshadowed by orientalist theories and as lies against muslims and Islam are being spread more than ever, people are easily becoming disillusioned.

>if you don't think niqab is obligatory you're an orientalist
You're very ignorant even though you've managed to convince yourself otherwise. Even al-Albani held the position that it's not obligatory. There is no ijmaa on this issue. Now if you think he's an orientalist or redditor then I don't think you should be using islamqa anymore.

What Qur'an translation does islamqa use? Because that is horribly off. Pic related is all that is necessary to fulfill the obligation in Qur'an.
Everything else is bid'ah.

I don't know about the face and hands, but every other part of a women's body (hair, chest, etc…) must be covered as commanded in the Qur'an al kareem. Don't let any disingenuous liberal Munafiq ever tell you otherwise.

It's one thing to neglect your duties. But it's even more dangerous to claim something despite there being evidence to the contrary. The link I provided doesn't contain regurgitated opinions and one-liners. Each and every single claim is supported by Quran verses and hadiths according to context. Maybe try looking at the supporting evidence instead of just borrowing opinions. If you have your mind set on something, at least it should be because you actually looked at, read or understood and agree with the argument and the logic that was put forward instead of simply choosing something because it's more convenient.
Here's another block of text which you'll probably just skim through without paying any heed to : https://archive.org/stream/NIQAB_674/4Niqab_abu_rawdha_djvu.txt
What some scholars have said is that the fact that it is fard cannot be established. But it is agreed that it is obligatory in some cases by majority of scholars. Imam Abu-Hanifa excluded the face and the hands but he mentioned that that was under the condition that there would be no fear of fitnah. You mentioned Albani? Even Albani said that it is mustahab especially in times of fitnah and that it is valid to say that it is obligatory in
some conditions.
But nowadays, we have our "enlightened" and "progressive" "moslems" that claim that niqab should be banned or that is just cultural and not Islamic.
If, even after seeing proof from the sunnah, people still choose to believe otherwise depending on other sources, it's their own choice. We can agree to disagree.
And Allah Knows best. May He guide and protect us all.

>Everything else is bid'ah.
That is completely false, a large portion of ahlul sunnah consider it wajib and the rest considers it mustahab. Even during ottoman times women wore niqaab.

First, take your own advice. We don't understand the Quran according to the whimsical interpretation of anyone. We understand it according to the understanding of Prophet Mohammad(SAWS) and the sahabah. The understanding that has been passed down by scholars who devoted their lives to compile and preserve the Quran and Sunnah. Your personal opinions based on your whims doesn't preceed the understanding of the actual scholars. Understanding comes after and/or with acquiring proper knowledge, not half-baked opinions.
