Why can't Hindi be made the national language? Why should we suck up to the goras and the brown anglo race or the 'lutyen's cabal' even 70 years after independence?
>inb4 muh 50,000 year old Tamil language aryans REEEEEE
I don't understand, then why do you suck up to English, arguably another 'Arien' language?
>but muh IT coolie jerbs
Literally kill yourself you absolute coons who have no self respect.
As I see it, spreading Hindi should be what both left and right should do. Its both an attempt at decolonization (why left should support it) and to achieve Hindu unity(Why right should support it).

That would require working towards a national mindset which populist regional politics have made impossible. Nobody's going to give hindi an inch if opposing it can be politically expedient.
I'm comfortable with the idea of hindi as lingua franca but many people see it as invasive and an attack on their culture. (Which is ironic since they have groups slowly subverting their cultural norms from the inside, which they ignore.)

We kind of had this discussion before on /stem/. Hindi will become gradually more accepted as a means of communication in the states not on the Hindi belt (Rajasthan, UP, MP etc.). The problem lies with various things like states having strong language heritage like the Bengalis, Tamils etc. And most of the dravidian languages do not have common vocabulary, unlike the northern languages.
What I think would be better is the use of a unified script at least for North Indic scripts, since they are mostly similar in structure and writing so they won't require much time to learn. and can be typed with relative ease on computers, but I don't think it would ever reach mass adoption unless provided as an option on popular platforms.

Who is stubborn about retaining scripts? Most of North uses Devanagiri except Punjabis and Gujaratis. And most of East and Northeast uses eastern nagari script. Southies won't accept a common script even for just South India alone because each of them are incredibly stubborn about upholding their culture. But Gujaratis and Punjabis might though.

Then tell me your solution. You think people are going to accept hindi as medium in south india?
I don't think so.
>bu- but urduniggers
Indiachan's meme nothing much. hindi evolved from aphrahbashm which is prakit of Sanskrit.
Hindi used by Government is heavily Sanskritized.
Urdu is aphrahbashm with Persian loanword and script.
Persian have had influence over whole indian subcontinent till south.
Hindi is not the problem basically it's the poor state
And people from poor state don't speak hindi as thier mother tongue, their language is much closer to bengali.
Hindi sort of act as unifying language between them which gives the impression that hindi is language of cow belt.
Cow Belt being poor is what make it repulsive.
Not muh urdu.
I hope you are getting my point.

Hindi doesn't enjoy the kind of optics english does, so yeah its perceived as being invasive.
Truth is irrelevant to perception. ;)
