>Netflix make games now?

Considering how hard this seemed to flop, hopefully they'll back off from now on.

Also are they still trying to do more than just licencing anime? It seemed like the only "netflix anime" that went over well was Castlevania.

You said it was easier to run older games over newer ones, combined with their lower price point makes them more desirable to you as an individual.

This isn't true for most customers, and is why newer games cost more, since most customers will be willing to pay a higher price point for newer titles alongside newer hardware.

This is why the RTX20- and raytracing is the big talk right now, you know?

But anyway… the funny thing is that this conversation started over a game still in development that has a price point on par with two games from 3 and 13 years ago respectively. The irony is that the new game is imitating older titles in look and feel, has about the same hardware demands, and is priced similarly to them, so I'm not sure where the "wow $20 whole jew golds! That's a lot!" comes from, all things considered.

>>133677

I know, and that's fair.

>Normalfags are stupid

Indeed. They are the reason the industry gets away with what it does.

>for a new game you're paying for what?

Popularity/demand, branding, production cost, and a newer, better looking game.

As time passes all these things wear off, as people move onto the next, so prices fall. Sometimes, the game is so unpopular, you put it out for free within a year, and your company fires you while you make an ass of yourself on Twitter.

>$20 for an early access game is quite a bit…

The lack of disposable income part is fair. Makes $20 out to be quite a bit. Budgeting things out $20 for me is my food expenses for a day.

Sure. But physical copies ARE still produced, and if you know that you can charge more people a similar price, while still saving on producing less physical copies in favor of digital ones, don't you think that's a smart business move?

>branding and production cost

Yes, but most of that has either been covered by the initial wave of higher prices, or was forfeit some other way as a loss when the game flopped.

>I don't care for graphics

This is a personal preference thing, and fair. But still, newer titles, look newer, not really arguable.

>$20

I ain't tellin' ya to spend $20. Or even arguing what the price should be. Simply that it's the same price as ten year old titles.

But if we use the argument often made that "day one DLC means you're selling an incomplete product" then we have to toss the price of DLC into the grand total of a new title. Which bumps the price of new games UP from $60 to roughly $80.

So in my life, the price of new games has jumped from $30 to almost $100 in just 15 years.

My car is also Korean, and 90% of my computer was probably made in Taiwan, and so is probably 90% of the things surrounding me.

The most American thing right now is the AR-15 sitting next to me, that was made in Washington state, but the metal it's made out of is an aircraft aluminum alloy that was developed by Japan in WWII.

I should expand. Chinese are after oil reserves in this part. Since japan says the own most of the oil reserve. China tries to find a way to neutralize Japan's claim by doing two things. Building artificial islands in the middle of the ocean and claiming them as Chinese soil and two if any territorial disputes occur and Japan launches a grievance. China dismisses the case because they have a seat on the world court.

The US Navy the plans for expansion as of now are small.

As I recall, the US is pretty much remaining static at this point as there's no real threat for us to act against. The US navy will probably retire some ships in the next few years and increase production quotas for ships. But, the US military is currently mired by budget cuts and budget increases in certain sectors. Not to mention the Trump administration increasing the efficiency of the military and his charge against corruption. Africa is going to be in dire straights for sometime considering the state the second Congolese war left the continent in and debt traps are sticky business for foreign powers to intervene on.

I go back and replay Might and Magic once a year or so. They're great games.

And yes, ETS2 is plenty fun. It plays well, it's relaxing, the game mechanics are very well implemented and the devs throws a ton of effort into every single detail, making it an authentic experience as possible. I love it
