Other sites use it as well, and it's quite simple, really. Unix has been using it since forever, then convert it to a more familiar system on the OS.
It's literally just the current time in seconds that has passed since the first of January 1970 at 00:00:00 UTC.
When I type this, 1535694695 seconds has passed.
This will be the filename of the image.
But because of the amount of traffic these sites get, what happens when two people post an image of the same type, such as a .jpg, during the very same second, is that the second image posted will overwrite the first image, as both these files have the same filename.
So the sites made an extension so instead of using time in seconds passed since the start of 1970, they used the amount of time passed in milliseconds instead
c85219 No.127242
This is also why your phone will likely stop working sometime in 2038 because it's 32bit and this 32bit integer that controls time, will overflow.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem
This will very likely also screw up everything we have in space. If everything that makes sure our GPS works suddenly thinks we're in the year 1901 instead of 2038, we're in deep shit

It's just unix-time, so nothing complicated.
Yeah, and some stuff did break.
The satellites will still operate during another time than our software on Earth and things wouldn't go well then.
The same stuff will happen which did to youtube when Gangnam Style reached 2147483648 views. The maximum value that can be stored in a 32bit integer is 2147483647, so if you add one more, you get negative 2147483648.
It's also why in 2038, the time will suddenly become 1901. If they need more time, they can store the value in an unsigned 32bit integer instead of a signed one, but best solution would be to replace the hardware with something that supports 64bit integers. We won't have to worry anymore then
c85219 No.127246
>>127244
Cause you don't have to look further than Gangnam Style on youtube. It had negative views.
Same will happen with all the space junk and other systems not upgraded to 64bit before 2038, or have mitigation patches applied that stores this value in an unsigned 32bit integer rather than a signed one
00ad62 No.127247
>>127245
it makes sense when you explain it i thought it was another system
>>127246
but what will happen to them when they do
c85219 No.127248
>>127247
Same thing that happened to Youtube. The integer value will overflow and -2147483648 is sometime during the 13'th of December 1901.
For something like GPS that has to be totally in sync in order to work, it's not good if the satellite says it's the 13'th of December 1901 while the equipment on Earth states we're in the year 2038.
Or networking packages. If the times don't match either, they'll be rejected.
You can even test this today. If your computer's internal clock is 10 years behind, you'll find that you can possibly not browse the internet at all, as your connection will be refused by the server you try connecting to.
So every system still running with this old system when the problem occurs, will not be able to access the internet.
When everything is as connected as they are today, things will break.
Online banking will probably fuck up too.
But this will only happen 20 years from now, and we already know when exactly it will happen, so plenty of times for patching and upgrading
00ad62 No.127249
>>127248
So satellites will just stop receiving connections, nothing too serious?
c85219 No.127250
>>127249
Yep. At worst we'll have newer satellites in the sky that doesn't have this problem and can replace the existing ones when the problem occurs and turn them all into space junk.
It's an issue that's already being worked on, so doubt it'll be much of a problem

It's literally just a 1000 lines script file which doesn't do much, but set up a wine environment for non-native games and copy over some files that makes it seem like it run natively.
Other than that, it just uses wine with a few patches such as DXVK that allows better support for DX11 and 12 games.
You could already do this on your own with relatively ease using something like PlayOnLinux, but I suppose it doesn't become easier than just clicking "install" followed by "play".
if it works, which it rarely does.
So in that regard, it's not really anything special.
They have thrown a ton of work into Wine, DXVK and other stuff that makes wine better and faster. A fuckton has happened with Wine within the past two years, and as Valve said, their work started back in 2016.
So in that regard, I'd say their effort is indeed very good.

Yeah, that's pretty much all it is. The real work behind it is accessible by everyone and doesn't require Steam.
The good thing about it, is if you buy a game and play it through the Steam thing, then it'll register as a Linux purchase.
All part of Valve's plan to make developers take the platform more seriously. If devs find out a sufficient amount of their playerbase is actually on another platform, they'd be stupid not to target that platform as well during the development of new titles.
And the Mac and Linux markets are big enough to allow companies like Feral and Aspyr to exist, so there's definitely a market than not many know of.

Wow…
So you got all the AR's, that's great. You can build a fairly competent team with all 4 of them, plus a decent tank SMG like Thompson, MP5, or SR-3mP if you happen to have one, or another high evasion tank.
These ARs are rather unique, in many ways. Two of them can take more than one attachment, M16 can take armor making her more of a shotgunshield/smgtank hybrid, while M4A1 actually provides tile buffs to OTHER ARs rather than tile buffs to SMGs.
This can make for a rather powerful, unique AR squad in a standard "b" formation with STAR15 in the 1 position, M4A1 in the 4 position, M4SOPMOD in the 7 position, M16 in the 2 position, and your SMG tank/buffer in the 5 position.
So now your objective is to unlock and then grind like mad on missions 4-3E, 4-4E, 5-2E, and 5-4E until you have at least 4 echelons at level 70+ and then grind 0-2 till you have 4 echelons at 90+ with 5x dummy link so you can beat chapter 6.
If you don't have any of the chapter 4 or 5 E missions I just mentioned unlocked, then start using Friend Support echelons to clear missions to that point so you can start grinding.

You've used up all your Dummy Cores then? That's okay, as you grind some of these maps they have a high chance of 3-Stars you can Disassemble for cores.
As for Logistics there are certain logistics you can run that are more efficient than others, here's a chart for that: https://i.imgur.com/FJ703Ye.png

I've yet to oath a single doll. The hearts just mean max affection right before oath, but it still gives them bonuses. Don't worry about affection though, you'll build it up naturally through completing missions.
And I had to grind that Echelon with those members from level 1 so I know it works.
It'll take a couple days maybe? Depending on how attached to the game you are to just keep running missions, and how many quick repairs you have laying around or if you have to wait for repairs over time. But on the higher missions like 5-2E and 0-2 the leveling is quite fast.
There's a limit. Some dolls have Mods they unlock later that increase their Star rarity, level cap, and alter their stats and tile placement. We don't have that on EN yet.
In order of importance I spent my Gems on Echelons (minimum you need is 6, so you can grind two and have 4 run Logistics 24/7), Dorms (since batteries are important to upgrade Data Room equipment to produce Combat Reports which will make leveling Dolls faster when you feed them combat reports), T-Doll capacity, because 100 slots eventually just isn't enough, Tokens for the gacha.
