I recently got into hypnosis but I have no idea where to start,

I already listened to a couple hypnosis tapes but none seem to work.

Does anybody know how to get deeper into trance and where or how to get triggers installed?

Find hypnotists that excite you! Look for some recommendations and see if you can find the hypnotist's website. From there you can check out audio samples and file descriptions to find something you'd like to try. Some hypnosis themes and styles will work better for you than others, so experiment and see how it goes.

Hypnosis works differently in real life than in the movies. It's important to understand that going into trance is a skill, so for the best effects, both you and the hypnotist need skill. Here are some of the most important things to practice, in my opinion:

1. Match your mood and attitude with the recording before you begin! If your goal is to have fun, you should listen when you're anticipating having fun. If you want to feel submission, your attitude should be, "let's see how submissive I can feel from this one!"

2. Be comfortable and free from distractions. Use the bathroom before you listen, make sure you're not hungry, set the room temperature to a comfortable setting, and mute your phone so it doesn't disturb you. This is very important for the next point.

3. Trance is a state of focus. When you're listening to a recording, you should focus your entire attention on the experience of listening to the hypnotist. If the hypnotist says to focus on his/her voice, that's what you do. If the hypnotist says to focus on your legs relaxing, you're focused on that. Do not think about whether you're in trance or whether it's working! Doing so will break your focus; this is where many new subjects plateau in skill! Maintaining focus can be more difficult for analytical people, so try different hypnotists/inductions to see which style keeps your focus locked in best.

4. Do exactly what the hypnotist tells you to do (within your limits obviously), even if you don't really feel like doing it. Stopping to deliberate whether you really need to follow that one instruction will break your focus. If you practice doing what the hypnotist says without hesitation, it paves the way for fun things later on, like "feel pleasure NOW!"

5. Enjoy the ride. That's the whole point, right? See how relaxed and focused you can get each time. One day you'll be enjoying a nice trance and suddenly get hit with a trigger that removes any lingering doubts.

Finally, one very common sign you were in trance is time distortion. You could listen to a 40-minute recording and feel like ten minutes passed when you awaken. If this happens, congratulations, you're trancing!

At its basis, hypnosis is when you decive / fool your mind into sleeping. Just like when you for a moment zone out while walking, reading book or even driving except this time you try to recreate this state on purpose. Let me rephrase this again!! We already experience this in our daily lives, this time you yourself do it rather than randomly having it in your daily life routine.

When you manage to do that your mind loses the ability to filter things through its logic. Your mind basically dreams when you are awake. The things that are suggested to you become registered as truth to your mind. That is when you can install triggers.

It would be good to provide an analogy to learn what it is as it will help you achieve it.

So, think of your mind consisting of 2 parts, one conscious and the other sub-conscious.

Basically your task is to by-pass the conscious mind (guard) so that it steps aside, just for you to speak to the sub-conscious mind.

-> When you think of fighting someone in your imagination, you sometimes get your heartbeat up faster. Do the same for sleeping and relaxing :)

There are many ways to do this, so at this point you need to try various ways to achieve it.

These tecniques include countdown relaxations, conversational / overloadings etc… So find what suits you the best. It will happen automatically. But there are some things that you can try to make easier to happen.

- Play along with it.

- Follow the instructions, play a game of pretend.

- Do not overthink like "is it working, am i getting hypnotized" Just allow the guard! to step aside.

- Experiment: For example do not think that darkness may make it easier for you to focus or relax by default, try with the lights on, to your surprise you may find it much better. Try lying down or sitting. One may work for someone but something different may hit your spot.

Arianna Erickson / Her some old recordings are great, I know that the sound quality is meh, but it is what does the job for me sometimes as it sounds authentic.

→ This is my technique: try imagining yourself sitting at a school desk and writing what the hypnotist says in the recording into your notebook in your imagination. But do it in detail. Feel yourself drawing the the exact shapes of the letters. Maintain this focus for a good span of time, after a while you will go on autopilot.

Or you can repeat the sentences in your mind. Just like an echo from a wall.
