> What is a mindfuck file actually supposed to be?
I would expect that to be a file that intentionally causes "my head is full of fuck" and leaves you in a very dense daze at the least.
> The descriptions always talk themselves up, but upon listening it's just "I'm fucking your mind oooooh".
Yeah, most 'tists have no fucking clue what they're doing. You are surprised at this?
> Then there's files that go on about control, then they command you to jack off. As if that wasn't the plan already.
That's actually a fairly well-known trick - they're trying to convince you of their control by telling you to do something you already intend to do. The trick fails if you notice it but it seems to work on some people.

> It's supposed to be torture porn basically. They make boilerplate scripts for most of the hypno shit out there.
Who is this "they"? Are you making a generic statement that most hypno is from a handful of boilerplate scripts?
> if you know but there's some shady actors pushing hypno for a while.
No doubt about that - I've also seen hypnosis being pushed without calling it hypnosis. Not sure if just marketing, or some more devious plot.
> There was a reason it was seeded in a lot of children's cartoons in the 1980s and 1990s - every kids show had their obligatory mind control episode, and they really pushed boundaries, Sometimes you can tell the writers were really into fetish and crossdressing.
Odd, the shows I watched growing up had those, but the plots I remember were always "mega-villain mind controls innocent person/sidekick/hero and makes them an unwilling - sometimes unwitting - minion until hero/hero/sidekick saves the day". Minor variations included trying to use a mind-controlled sidekick to lure the hero into danger foiled when the hero tricked the minions into releasing the sidekick, or the hero having to stop a mass mind-control plot many of these, ranging from preventing it in the first place to breaking the mass mind control somehow.
