Hypnosis, subliminals, NLP, etc. are simply methods we've found to be quicker at directly affecting the subconscious, and porn is more effective than most non-sexual media at influencing people, since it encourages them to put down their guard by appealing to a more primitive part of the brain.
If someone is exposed to a certain type of media for a large portion of their life, it will have some type of effect on them, and if it's either hypnotic or pornographic, doubly so. To argue that hypnosis isn't real ignores the real effects of it, but perhaps it could equally be argued that most people aren't real. A child who grows up watching sissy hypno will no doubt turn out vastly different, and almost surely worse off, than one who had never watched porn in their life.

Mental manipulation as a whole is littered with little hypno tricks.
You don't have to be a blank-minded slave to be vulnerable to manipulation. While the mind is in a "beta state" when actively thinking/reading, it drops into a more day-dreamy "alpha state" all the time throughout the day without you even noticing. For instance, when watching TV, people drop into an alpha state within 30 seconds. Ever watch the news? Notice how news shows often start with a visual graphic of things spinning around (sometimes they even use a countdown), then you look straight into the eyes of the news anchor whose monotone, yet authoritative voice tells you what's presented as absolute truth.
By the way, just because it's not 100% effective doesn't mean it doesn't work.
