What draws people to hypnosis? I have a couple connected ideas, more about people who want to be hypnotized than hypnotists, and I'd like to know if they make any sense.

Firstly, hypnosis fetishists wish to be changed. These changes may be small or dramatic, positive or negative, temporary or permanent. Why hypnosis though? Why don't they just improve themselves? That leads into the next thought.

Hypnosis fetishists either don't think they can change themselves or see it as difficult. They see both altered states of consciousness and (almost always) the guidance of another person as important to achieving these changes. Notice how little interest self-hypnosis gets among hypnofags: everyone wants someone else to hypnotize them. Hypnohub has a mere 9 pages of self_hypnosis drawings out of 2008 pages total.

Obviously there's some submissive leanings in many hypnofags. Most maybe excluding stuff like entry-level feminizationfags who just want to become 3DPD hypnofags find the state of hypnosis and being under someone else's guidance and control hot or comfortable, often both.

This next idea may be controversial and I haven't completely figured it out yet, so I'd like some feedback on it. There's a concept, often misunderstood, called emotional intelligence. It's the ability to recognize and discern between emotions/feelings in yourself and others, to understand what's triggers said emotions, and knowing when to ignore them. I think many hypnofags lack this to some degree and are disconnected from themselves, so they either have more trouble changing and improving themselves or flat out don't know how to. They see hypnosis as a way to get through the surface layer and speak directly to one's inner mind with the help of another.

There's a problem with this. Most traditional hypnosis inductions use social and emotional cues I wish I could explain this better to help guide the listener down into trance, but if someone is emotionally disconnected or stunted enough they won't recognize these cues. This is where confusion inductions and related techniques are brought in, and fittingly there's one hypnosis niche where these are especially popular: feminization and its subgenres, one of the most extreme ways to change one's self. These connected fetishes usually share the idea that women are more emotionally in-touch and sensitive than men, yet the people who stereotypically seek this are also groups not known for either, like computer programmers and autists. Visit the threads of confusion-heavy hypnotists like $4mu3l B4nd13r and (((B4mb1))) and you'll notice very quickly that they're full of spergs, angry people, and rationalists, the very opposite of the feminine or bimbofied ideals they're trying to become.

Are feminizationfags trying to compensate for perceived shortcomings? Maybe. I still don't completely get hypnofaggotry, and I've barely even touched self-destructive fetishes here (which are probably some weird way of coping with stress or pain), but wondering about this stuff is fun and maybe I'll get something useful out of it someday.

Nice try. But mostly not correct.

1. you see most people here as hypnosis fetishists or hypnofags. But most people here see hypnosis as nothing more than a tool to their goal. It can be feminisation, humiliation, relaxation, self improving or self destruction or other goals.

2. You think that people want to be more feminine because women are more emotionally in-touch and sensitive than men. That's just idiotic! The people who want to go there want to be more feminine because there is a inner urge that tells them to go there, Not because there is a political correctness or a social behavioral thing going on here.

Have you even tried hypnosis? What do you want out of this?

You might enjoy this somewhat tangiental blog series if you're thinking about the ways people can relate to parts of their personality. https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/5gfqG3Xcopscta3st/building-up-to-an-internal-family-systems-model

I listen to a lot of forced bi stuff, and I can really enjoy thoughts of men in trance, but that mode of relating to my sexuality / way of interpreting stimuli is a lot less accessible out of trance and not on drugs (I often listen with weed or alcohol).

> hypnosis fetishists wish to be changed

Having the fantasy of being changed and experiencing your reactions to instructions to change are not the same as wanting the change. If you're fantasizing about getting to a certain headspace / way of relating to the world and yourself, you are almost by definition not really experiencing it, because it's framed as something other to you. I've had post hypnotic stuff happen, not in a magical way, but in the sense of changing mindset over time that wouldn't have happened otherwise, and it's not particularly sexy because you don't notice it. You're shaped to be the person you are by your experience of your own mind through memories and your experience of the world around you every day. You could be a totally different person with a totally different experience of life if something had gone differently a year ago, and that's just life. In this sense, hypnotic stimuli aren't really special.

There's a debate in what little academic study of hypnosis there is about whether hypnosis actually entails altered states of consciousness, or is just social pressure and playing along. I have definitely experienced very altered states of consciousness in trance, but it's quite rare. Usually this is when I'm able to freeze my body and disassociate; I've never had sleep paralysis but if you get into trying to lucid dream it's a little bit like the dream states you can enter by trying to lucid dream just by lying still (Wake Induced Lucld Dreaming is a lot harder than stuff like Wake Back To Bed where actively disrupting your sleep progression with an alarm makes you more conscious the second half of the night, and I've never managed to lucid dream at all). These altered states are interesting and exciting – the experience of ending up in a different mental space than I would have been able to guide myself into alone is a big draw for me.

>Obviously there's some submissive leanings in many hypnofags

I've known I was submissive for a long time, and it's pretty much the most important part of my sexuality. Almost all of my sexual fantasies have been orientated around it in some form or another for as long as I can remember.

Speaking of altered states and submission, desire / certain very absorbed kinds of lust can be their own sort of hypnosis, in a sense. As a young kid discovering my sexuality I found those rat glue trap videos where women get stuck in rat glue fascinating in a weird way. The experience of having feelings and being confused yet excited by them reminds me of listening to hypnosis audio in some ways.

The most robust psychometrics we have for personality are those derived from factor analysis, and the most widely used of these is the big five or OCEAN model. The factor that's relevant here is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Openness_to_experience; see the sections on hypnotisability (Openness is pretty strongly related to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absorption_(psychology), although note the correlation with hypnotisability is only a modest one) and also maybe sexuality and personality disorders:

>Problems related to high openness that can cause issues with social or professional functioning are excessive fantasizing, peculiar thinking, diffuse identity, unstable goals and nonconformity with the demands of the society.[40]

>Impulsivity (here: an aspect of openness that shows a tendency to behave unusually or autistically)

Regarding femization stuff, which I am also into, you're super simplifying things. If you actually get into the sissy stuff online it becomes quickly apparent that "sissy" is an umbrella term meaning different things to different people. For some people it's about forced bi, for some it's about humiliation, for some it's autogynophilia / erotic target location 'error' type stuff, body related or otherwise, for some transvestic fetishism type stuff where make-up or stockings are really the fetish, and for some it's about exploring social aspects of gender roles and how they shape the ways your relate to other people and yourself. All these aspects are tangled up, and they play off each other. Compulsive behavior can be exciting (albeit unhealthy) for someone whose fantasies are based around losing control anyway, and this sort of relates to my above comments about accessing moods that you wouldn't otherwise be able to, in the sense that it's normal for a sane individual to be totally into feminization and cool with it, having contextualized it in the rest of their life one day, and the next to feel really uncomfortable about it and like it doesn't fit. The fact that a single person can experience such different stances about the same thing makes exploring those stances and moving between them interesting, and this applies at the societal level too – in some sense this is what the academic field of queer studies is about, inverting the positive space of 'aberrant' or 'out of the norm' vs the negative space of everyone else so that what's considered normal is foregrounded instead of degenerate queers, and we can consider how we come to form those opinions in the first place and how they control us both personally and collectively, which gender norms in their many variants absolutely do. That past line might sound awfully permissive of me, so let me drop a strong discouragement here to anyone reading: it's extremely unlikely that taking HRT or phytoestrogens without talking to a gender therapist is a good idea for you if your route into this was fetish related. Trans people also get into stuff and complicate advice, but if you're getting your advice from here and not trans subreddits after you've fapped and your boner has died, do yourself a favour and set strong limits. Get pierced, wear whatever you want, that shit doesn't matter, but changing your body without thinking about it exposes you to serious health risks that shouldn't be rationalized away, and you will likely regret it. I took PM for a month or so and after an orgasm near the end felt the lowest I have ever felt in my life because of unbalanced hormones. I still have some mild breast growth and fat distribution. There are sane ways to explore whatever femboi aesthetic you're interested in, but this isn't one of them.

> I've barely even touched self-destructive fetishes here (which are probably some weird way of coping with stress or pain)

You might enjoy this Roy Baumeister paper to help you understand what people are seeking from these experiences (paywall workaround link): https://sci-hub.tw/https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/00224498809551444

whose abstract goes:

> […] It is possible to consider mashochism as neither a form of

self-destruction nor a derivative of sadism. Instead, masochism may be a

means of escaping from high-level awareness of self as a symbolically

mediated, temporally extended identity. Such awareness is replaced by

focus on the immediate present and on bodily sensations, and sometimes

by a low-level awareness of self as an object. Evidence is reviewed in-

dicating that the principal features of masochism (pain, bondage, and

humiliation) help accomplish this hypothesized escape from high-level

self-awareness. Historical evidence suggests that sexual masochism pro-

liferated when We5t3rn culture became highly individualistic. This could

mean that cultural emphasis on the autonomous, individual self in-

creased the burdensome pressure of selfhood, leading to greater desires

to escape from self masochistically.

This is a wildly different motivation than what might motivate someone to hypnotize other people.

>But most people here see hypnosis as nothing more than a tool to their goal. It can be feminisation, humiliation, relaxation, self improving or self destruction or other goals.

That still fits into the first two or three points, even if hypnosis is a tool to these people and nothing more.

>The people who want to go there want to be more feminine because there is a inner urge that tells them to go there.

And why is that urge there? Just because an urge exists doesn't mean someone should follow it: there are people with strong sexual urges to stomp on animals or eat human flesh. Do you really think the guy who gets off to crushing animals simply gets off to it in pure isolation, a standalone way of enjoying himself, with no relation to other things going on inside his body and mind?

>Have you even tried hypnosis?

There is a difference between reacting to change vs wanting actual change, yeah. I hoped mentioning temporary vs permanent change captured this but maybe it didn't.

As for feminization, sure there's loads of varieties but I suspect the underlying reasons are pretty similar, more similar than you'd think. At the very least, SB and (((B4mb1))) attract a very particular kind of person here and they're very different from the files' intended goals. I'll probably give you a better response later after I've digested it for a while.

> At the very least, SB and (((B4mb1))) attract a very particular kind of person here and they're very different from the files' intended goals.

There's a selection bias effect here where only certain types of people will post in the first place, since most of us just want to download the files. Drawing conclusions from vocal shitposters isn't necessarily going to give you insight into how people actually use the files.

If you're shocked that people are angry online instead of horny dumb bimbos, I gotta tell you I think you were expecting a bit much, both of some audio files and also of chan culture.

The line "very different from the files' intended goals" reminded me of common thread between SB and (((B4mb1))), which is that both creators are to various degrees somewhat covert with exactly what the files will do, with (((B4mb1))) being more extreme than advertised and SB supposedly putting sissy type stuff in hetero files. I suspect that kind of thing might be a reason why those particular creators may lead to inflammatory responses, along with, in (((B4mb1)))'s case, the strong popularity of the files (due to very good production quality) leading to a lot of posters interested in the thread, watching for updates on the extremely sporadic release schedule, with nothing productive to do whilst they check to see if the files are free yet.

The only good (((B4mb1))) shitpost meme was the one about reinterpreting the files as encouraging pringle addiction.

Point I was trying to make, was that I don't believe most people see hypnosis as their fetish or their goal, but as a way to reach that. As for the feminization reaction: After reading your text again I think I may have misread your meaning.

I'm not sure what you mean with the difference between the goals of the SB and (((B4mb1))) files and their audience. I'm interested to hear more about that.

Hypnosis for me is simply a fetish. And the fetish stems from mostly femdom.

It started as femdom. Transitioned into just trying to see if I can force random triggers to actually occur.

Over time, it turned into a situation where hypnosis itself turned me on. So the thought of being hypnotized just gets me going.

> These changes may be small or dramatic, positive or negative, temporary or permanent. Why hypnosis though? Why don't they just improve themselves?

Why not both?

Why dam the river when you can more easily alter its course?

The human brain is very complex and actually works in several layers, enough that fMRI scanning can determine, reliably, what choice you will make before you are even aware of making a choice. Why fight your lower unconscious self when you can train it to align with your goals instead? Hypnosis can be a means to that end.

I'm the anon behind Project "Wolfgirl" btw. Briefly, the goal is to use hypnosis to create a companion that motivates her host to live better.

> both creators are to various degrees somewhat covert with exactly what the files will do

Such behavior is generally considered to be unethical.

> (((B4mb1))) being more extreme than advertised

I'm unconvinced on this - what (((B4mb1))) Sleep advertises is extreme in the first place. Taken as a whole, the (((B4mb1))) Sleep series tries to do what it says it does. Some of the files touch on themes that aren't explicitly mentioned for that file, but that are mentioned as part of other files. Some of the effects dance on the line, like the "bimbo uniform" that gets more difficult to remove over time - actually, removing it should be impossible under some of the effects described - but all of the effects are supposedly limited to wearing the bimbo uniform. From my analysis of the transcripts I've seen so far, such limits are set, but are treated rather cavalierly while reinforcing the triggers. Simply, triggers are limited to the uniform and the (((B4mb1))) personality when set, but the limits are often forgotten when the trigger is reinforced. It reads more like bad writing than intentional malice to me, for whatever that's worth to you.

Why the fuck am I defending (((B4mb1))) Prime?

> SB supposedly putting sissy type stuff in hetero files

As I understand, it's a little bit beyond that for SB - all of SB's files lead to sissy content over time if used as directed. SB is probably a uniquely unethical hypnotist in this way, in a class with only the most outrageous of the hypnowhales. Except the hypnowhales were also comically incompetent, while SB actually can get results from at least some people.

>>60353

> the difference between the goals of the SB and (((B4mb1))) files and their audience

I think I know and I'll try to explain with a focus on (((B4mb1))) Sleep - OP was saying that the people using (((B4mb1))) Sleep seem to be almost the complete opposite of the (((B4mb1))) personality. Perhaps this an example of opposites attracting and possibly some easy misinterpretation of (((B4mb1))) Sleep's description - there was a post in an early (((B4mb1))) Sleep thread asking how long it would take for (((B4mb1))) to manifest, a misunderstanding that was quickly corrected by other anons explaining that (((B4mb1))) Sleep is a takeover series.

> There was so much shit attributed to the files that getting a Pringles addiction didn't seem unlikely either.

There's a story to this… and sadly I had a role…

One day, a wild troll appeared in the (((B4mb1))) Sleep thread and announced that he had l33t |-|4X0r3d the (((B4mb1))) Sleep file distribution and replaced the files posted for download. He claimed that the new files had a "powerful suicide subliminal" added and that soon there would be a lot less (((B4mb1)))s.

The (((B4mb1)))s began to whine and scream like petulant children - "NO YOU DIDN'T", "MY FILES ARE JUST FINE", and so forth. I tried to put an end to this quickly by explaining how to verify the files - all we needed for a few anons who had downloaded the files previously to post the digests of their files and download the files again to confirm that the same files are still available for download. A few anons did as I asked and the "suicide subliminal" troll was shot down.

A few days later, another troll appeared, with pasta of the "suicide subliminal" troll that now talked about a "powerful Pringles subliminal" in the files. I decided to laugh along with everyone else. Who cares if some (((B4mb1)))s really do get a nocebo effect addiction to potato chips?

If anyone is genuinely interested, some noticeable effects I've experienced:

-Delayed Ejaculation(when you jerk like a jackhammer and are unable to release even after going for an hour; Ridiculously exhilarating and powerful)

-proficiency applicable to all kinds of hypnosis (also self-improvement)

-powerful way to take edge off, relieve stress and prevent burnout

I think it's neither and intentional. Most of the population is not an instant helplessly obedient somnambulist, there's always a bit of going along with things especially with prerecorded audio. It's hard enough getting triggers to work, getting them not to work is easy. Limits need only be mentioned sparingly, going over them everywhere is just wasted time.

Agreed. Most post hypnosis effects will go away. This has to do with the subconsious dealing with more real events on a daily basis than a hypno session could counter for.

However the conversation always takes this route because the series have the most succes stories. Myself included. That causes a certain hysteria and polarisation effect. Aka most discussions will eventually go about (((B4mb1))).

Some notes on the topic:

All hypnosis is self hypnosis. So OPs has a well versed opinion. False flat in the basis though. Like the other guy said pragmatically. Hypnosis is just more easy going guided form of self meditation.

Hypnosis is just a fetish for me. It's a variation of submission by control from a female in a way that attracts me more. With Hypnosis, as long as you close your eyes, anything is possible. There's an indulgence to the fetish that allows you to

>change your body

>become someone else

>roleplay in a way that is easier to actually get into the role, by "becoming" it

>get enslaved in a level deeper than basic physical force could, you lose control over being able to resist entirely because you can't resist at all, not because you obey your master

It can do anything, and it can make your mind feel anything. If you're willing to listen and submit, you can literally just have a regular sex scenario that feels more pleasurable at minimum.

For me it taps into both my femdom and autogynephillia fetishes while providing a nice bit of escapism and de-stress/relaxation as well as a mental break

The latter is most interesting, I noticed I tend to listen to these hypnos often after a long day of prolonged intense mental activity whether playing a long strategy or milsim game or simply debating and arguing pointlessly on /v/ again. Your observation of the types of people that you find posting on the (((B4mb1))) threads is accurate to my experience, this kind of hypno provides a bit of relief from the constantly analyzing, rationalizing, active mind, one that I sometimes struggle to "turn off" when listening too.

You could just choose to do meditation of course to get a similar break but sometimes you want something different and when I'm feeling mentally exhausted I find it easier to pursue the lewd option

To add onto this; it's really helped me accept my body which in turn has led to really viewing sex and pleasure differently.

I'm not saying listening to hypnosis will take you from a self-hating insecure person to a really confident radiant being. I'm saying through great hypnotists, they've taught me to take my time, to relax, to just enjoy the ride. Like for example stripping/exhibitionist files, you aren't actually being "forced" to strip, but rather you're put in a more comfortable mindset to stop overthinking about how your body looks and just enjoy it.

Now I'm really in love with working on improving myself one small step at a time. And as noted above, it in turn has helped me sexually because sex is no longer about the ejaculation, that's just the bonus, sex is so much more and I love getting others to also experience that - even when it's not through hypnosis. When your mind is feeling good and in a much healthier position, everything else slowly starts falling into place, you can focus better, you can exercise better, you can care about others more. List goes on and on.

I went through a phase of really hating hypnosis, feeling like it was nothing but a porn addiction, but that was entirely my fault because I spent too much time trying to find HFO files to get me off and not just working on finding great caring hypnotists who genuinely want you to have fun.

It's kind of tricky because a lot of people finding hypnosis are coming from a severe porn addiction. So they never get to see anything else about hypnosis, it's just ALL about the ejaculation. That sort of mindset is just as silly as traditionally meditating for the first time and expecting your penis to shoot. Yet for some reason it's super common around here.
