Try a shot of vodka. Apparently alcohol makes people more suggestible than LSD, though that could be because it's a more lucid high. Alcohol is inhibitory/relaxing.
Avoid any form of caffeine in the hours before hypnosis. Caffeine is excitatory/tension-making.
Smoking is also excitatory.
People use the word relax so often it sounds meaningless, like "chill out," but it's physiological. It's inhibition versus excitation, where neither are good or bad in themselves. Your body enters a state of inhibition before you go to sleep. This is what you need to do before you go into trance, and why hypnosis in bed is better than more upright (more tense) listening positions.
It also helps to have intellectual respect for the hypnotist, i.e. it's not glorified phone sex.
You're in trance if you can't tell if you hands are palm down or palm up. That's how dissociated you become from your body.
