John Deere is a globalism player and they're currently against their own clients for altering THEIR OWN TRACTORS, in a bid to control the Right to Repair.
They're what happens in the tractor space when you insert an Apple-like mindset into farmerspace. Not only that but their equipment is really awful anyway. Right to Repair is playing out and they have gone woke and will be broke soon.

A North Dakota farm filed a class-action lawsuit on Wednesday, alleging John Deere is violating the Sherman Act in not making diagnostic software available to farmers who want to repair their own equipment.
The lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Northern Illinois alleges John Deere has monopolized the repair service market for John Deere brand agricultural equipment with onboard central computers known as engine control units, or ECUs.
Forest River Farms in Forest River, North Dakota, asked for a trial by jury and wants the court to order John Deere to make the necessary software available to individual farmers and repair shops.
In addition, the lawsuit seeks damages for farmers who have paid for repairs from John Deere dealers beginning on Jan. 12, 2018, to the present.
The right to repair increasingly has become an issue in agriculture and other industries with state legislatures introducing bills in at least 32 states, including bills in 21 states in 2021.
Part of the problem is the equipment manufacturers currently will not allow farmers the hardware or software needed to diagnose a problem, much less repair it. So, dealers must send their teams out to the field to diagnose a problem and likely order parts, then come back out to make the repairs. There may be other complications with repairs.
Forest River Farms said in the complaint that it owns five John Deere tractors and two John Deere combines that use ECUs.
“During the class period, plaintiff Forest River Farms purchased Deere repair services in North Dakota from a John Deere dealership to diagnose and repair tractor and combine malfunctions and suffered antitrust injury as a result of defendant’s conduct alleged herein,” the lawsuit said.
“Farmers have traditionally had the ability to repair and maintain their own tractors as needed, or else have had the option to bring their tractors to an independent mechanic. However, in newer generations of its agricultural equipment, Deere has deliberately monopolized the market for repair and maintenance services of its agricultural equipment with ECUs by making crucial software and repair tools inaccessible to farmers and independent repair shops.”
John Deere did not respond to DTN’s request for comment.
In addition, the lawsuit alleges Deere’s network of “highly consolidated independent dealerships” is “not permitted through their agreements” with Deere to provide farmers or repair shops “with access to the same software and repair tools the dealerships have.

“As a result of shutting out farmers and independent repair shops from accessing the necessary resources for repairs, Deere and the dealerships have cornered the Deere repair services market in the United States for Deere-branded agricultural equipment controlled by ECUs and have derived supracompetitive profits from the sale of repair and maintenance services.”
The lawsuit alleges John Deere has “deliberately” made software unavailable to individual equipment owners and independent repair shops.
“Historically, farmers who owned Deere tractors have had the option of repairing their tractors themselves or taking them to an independent repair shop of their choosing,” the lawsuit said.
“By making the software, for all practical purposes, unavailable, Deere has succeeded in foreclosing competition in the multi-billion-dollar Deere repair services market.” Consequently, plaintiff and class members have paid millions of dollars more for the repair services than they would have paid in a competitive market.”
The lawsuit points to independently owned dealerships that have agreements with John Deere in order to sell Deere tractors and repair services, as co-conspirators.
“Based on recent data, out of the 1,544 dealerships affiliated with Deere, 91% of these dealerships are owned by a ‘big dealer,’ i.e., a dealer that owns five or more individual locations,” the lawsuit said.
The lawsuit said the largest dealership groups include Ag-Pro Companies, United Ag and Turf, C&B Operations, Pape Machinery, RDO Equipment, Brandt Holdings, Greenway Equipment, Van Wall Group and Quality Equipment.
Modern Deere tractors run firmware that is needed to perform its basic functions.
The lawsuit said farmers report their tractors shutting down from computer faults. This requires producers to wait for John Deere technicians to arrive on-farm “while they lose valuable time, which can lead to expensive crop losses. Without the firmware, the product is incomplete and will not run, making the firmware as vital a part to the basic functioning of a tractor as a steering wheel or an engine,” the lawsuit said.
“According to a report from a U.S. Public Interest Research Group, the John Deere S760 combine harvester has 125 different computer sensors in it. If any one of those sensors throw an error code, the combine will enter limp mode.”
As of 2021, the lawsuit said, farmers pay between $150 to $180 per hour for Deere repair services from an authorized dealer.
“Regardless of a farmer’s own ability and knowledge regarding how to repair the tractor they own, without the relevant software, an authorized John Deere technician must be called to perform many repairs,” the lawsuit said.
“Logistically, this is a nightmare for many farmers. When a farmer calls a dealer to perform a repair, the farmer is at the mercy of the dealer’s schedule and must pay whatever the cost is — including travel expenses — even if the problem could be fixed in 15 minutes with access to the software. Deere has made farmers dependent on Deere for repairs. These additional costs paid to Deere by farmers cut into an already razor-thin profit margin on crops.”
The lawsuit alleges John Deere has undertaken a consolidation of the number of dealership locations.
In 1996, John Deere had about 3,400 dealerships. By 2007, the number decreased to 2,984, according to the lawsuit. “In 2021, only 1,544 dealership locations remained,” the lawsuit said. “Only 144 of these dealerships are not owned by ‘big dealers,’ i.e., dealerships that operate five or more individual dealership locations. Very few single-location dealerships remain.
“The staggering amount of consolidation among Deere dealerships is the result of Deere systematically picking off small dealerships by coercing them to sell to a larger dealer.”
In September 2018, the Equipment Dealers Association, a trade and lobbying group that represents John Deere and other manufacturers, committed to make repair tools, software and diagnostics available to the public by Jan. 1, 2021.

When Title 42 ends next month, estimates predict the monthly crossers could triple to 18,000 encounters per dayThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced earlier this month that it is ending Title 42, which allowed for immediate expulsion of migrants without hearing asylum claims at the border during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Republicans – and even some Democrats – are warning that ending the pandemic-era will lead to a tripling in border crossings with already record-setting numbers.
A few bipartisan pieces of legislation are going through Congress right now that would prevent Title 42 from ending until the public health emergency for the coronavirus pandemic is ended in the U.S.
The American Governors' Border Strike Force was launched the day after March's border crossing numbers showed a two-decade high.
The program is based on the Arizona Border Strike Force, which was developed by Ducey in 2015, and since its inception has led to the seizure of '985 pounds of fentanyl, 13,100 pounds of methamphetamine, 1,704 pounds of cocaine and 801 pounds of heroin.'
'What we're doing in Arizona works,' Ducey said. 'But this is not just an Arizona issue, it's a national issue.'
'If our entire southern border isn't secure, our nation isn't secure,' he continued. 'As dangerous transnational criminal organizations continue to profit from holes in the border and fill our communities with drugs, it's no coincidence that we're seeing historic levels of opioid-related deaths.'
'The American Governors' Border Strike Force will serve as a force multiplier in the fight against criminal activity directly tied to our border.Ducey and Abbott, border state governors, first teamed up to form the collaboration in December.
Border Patrol has expressed the need for more analytical and cyber assistance – as well as more boots on the ground to help with securing the border instead of getting stuck working at processing centers.
The 26-state-wide effort includes several initiatives that will target cartels and drug and human smuggling.

Before serving as a fixer and reporter for the BBC in Ukraine, Orysia Khimiak handled PR for a start-up called Reface which created what the Washington Post called a “reality distorting app” now serving as “a kind of Ukrainian war-messaging tool.”
According to her Linkedin profile, Khimiak was the director of PR for Reface until October 2021. While working that job, Khimiak says she built “long-term relationships with editors and media representatives.” She has also overseen a PR course for the Kiev-based Projector Institute, whose website currently greets visitors with the slogan, “Glory to Ukraine. We Will Win.”
With her wealth of media contacts, Khimiak now plays an instrumental role in shaping BBC’s coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian war. She has even shared a byline with the network’s Lviv-based correspondent, Hugo Bachega, co-authoring reports focused on demonstrating Russian culpability for the bombing of the Mariupol dramatic theater.
Khimiak broadcasts her political bias in her Twitter bio, stating that she is “a fixer in Lviv for journalists for reporters who show honest image of Russian war against Ukraine. Ukraine will resist.”
Khimiak’s Twitter background references the “Snake Island” standoff which was widely reported by mainstream Western media outlets and heralded as a testament to Ukrainian military bravery. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, 13 Ukrainian border guards “died heroically” defending an island base against they Russian Navy. “Russian warship, go fuck yourself!” were the soldiers’ final words, or so the story went.
The Ukrainian guards ultimately turned up alive as Russian captives. The entire story of courage under fire, including the Snake Island defenders’ famous last words, was a myth – one of so many stories fabricated or heavily distorted by pro-Ukraine elements that they have become impossible to count.
On the Twitter page of the PR agent-turned-BBC correspondent Khimiak, the phony Snake Island stand-off is still treated as a real historical event.

Secret Service officers on Wednesday morning fatally shot an intruder at the Peruvian Embassy in Washington, DC.
According to police, the residents called law enforcement after an intruder broke several windows in the back of the residence at around 8 am.
Police shot the man after using tasers to try to subdue the intruder, who was armed with a metal stake, Fox 5 DC reported.
“We don’t know who this individual is,” DC Police Chief Robert Contee said. “We don’t know why this person was on the ambassador’s residential property, we don’t know why this person smashed out several windows, we don’t know why this person had a double stake, we don’t know why this person approached the officers with that double stake, but we’re investigating that now.”

SEATTLE – A Seattle Public Schools teacher is now facing child molestation charges stemming from allegations made in an essay his victim wrote for school.
The girl, now 13, was asked to write a paper about a “time of great difficulty in her life,” according to court documents. She ended up writing about a former teacher she said molested her multiple times.
Abdi A Hassan, 31, was the teacher named, he was an English as a Second Language teacher at Rainier View Elementary school during the 2015-2016 school year.
Hassan allegedly taught the student, whose first language is not English, by taking her to the library and having her read in English out loud.
However, the girl claims he would also make her touch him while she read and once touched himself from behind her after forcing her to the ground inappropriately.
The victim would have been about six or seven at the time of the molestations.
Hassan has since been put on administrative leave from the district while the investigation unfolds. He is facing two counts of child molestation.

WASHINGTON — (AP) — The Justice Department is filing an appeal seeking to overturn a judge’s order that voided the federal mask mandate on planes, trains and travel hubs, officials said Wednesday.
It came minutes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asked the Justice Department to appeal the decision handed down by a federal judge in Florida earlier this week.
A notice of appeal was filed in federal court in Tampa.
The CDC said in a statement on Wednesday that it is its “continuing assessment that at this time an order requiring masking in the indoor transportation corridor remains necessary for the public health.”
The CDC said it will continue to monitor public health conditions to determine if a mandate would remain necessary. It said it believes the mandate is “a lawful order, well within CDC’s legal authority to protect public health.”

Gay Bowl is an annual competition held by the NGFFL and includes teams from all around the United States and Canada. The league is LGBTQ+ inclusive and welcomes all people to participate as players, officials, and fans. According to United Sports Seattle (USS), around 2,000 athletes, coaches, officials and fans are expected to travel to Seattle for the tournament.
The proposed dates for the 2023 Gay Bowl XXIII will be Indigenous’ Peoples Day Weekend, Oct. 5-8.

It turns out car prowling at trailheads is a Pacific Northwest thing and Steve Avila of Bellingham has had enough.
“I can’t even enjoy the trailheads because you are worried about coming back to a broken window and stuff stolen,” he said.
Avila, 58, organized a security patrol Saturday at the North Chuckanut Mountain Trailhead near Arroyo Park, where three piles of shattered glass in the lot provided all the evidence one needed to see what has outdoor enthusiasts so frustrated.
Break-ins have become a scourge on our way of life. Bellingham and surrounding communities are magnets for people looking to escape the trappings of urban living. Now such crime has followed the parade north.
