Has anyone checked out this game?
Created by a group of people who originally met while browsing pink petal, the forum where the game "Whore Master" is hosted.
It takes the concept of image tagging from Whore Master and created Pytfall. A slave management game with dating sim, and dungeon crawling elements.
Currently in active beta, they post updates to fix bugs/balancing issues as the problems show up on discord.

It's *not* offensively bad. It lacks polish, but it's *not* a blatantly unfinished 0.01 Patreon demo. The GUI is generally pleasant to look at, although the UX is filled with minor annoyances. The game is playable, but it's not satisfying. The basic problem is: WHY? Why does this exist? Which niche is it supposed to fill?
It has a lot of gameplay systems. RPG stat growth, time management, brothel management, combat, shopping/inventory, arena progression, dating minigame, slave training, quests, etc. I can't identify any of these systems as the game's focal point; none of them feels like a particular area of interest or passion for the devteam. They all seem to have been included because they would be *expected* in a game of this type, or because such features can be found in similar games from which the devs drew inspiration. There's no unique spark.
Contrast this with something like Jack O Nine Tails (whose imaginatively cruel setting insinuated itself into most aspects of gameplay) or SlaveMaker (with a roster of unique characters whose training would present special challenges and reveal aspects of their personalities) or No Haven (wherein traits have enormous impact on a character's capabilities and the likelihood of RNG mission failure - placing emphasis on teamwork and careful management decisions) or Strive for Power (in which sexual slavery is heavily intertwined with magic and social hierarchy). Pytfall has a harsh backstory, but the player can rarely do anything cruel (also: the artwork is consistently cute and sex-positive). Pytfall can import unique NPC characters via modpacks, but they're defined by a few personality keywords (such as "Yandere" or "Nymphomaniac"); characters lack unique dialogue or special training mechanics. Pytfall has random traits, but they have less impact than the player-controlled stuff (such as chastity gear and manacles). Pytfall has magic based on diametrically opposed elements, but magic is merely a combat ability with no significance to the plot or themes (because AFAICT there is no plot).
The only really notable feature is the image-tagging randomization stuff, which can (potentially) deliver a suitable illustration for each sex scene. But the accompanying sexual text is extremely brief and generic, so the game doesn't really "enrich" the visual experience. You'll probably get more titillation by browsing through the image gallery (instead of repeatedly clicking "Anal Sex" and hoping for the randomizer to deliver a nice pic).
The customization of the player character (choosing a special trait based on bloodline) is good, because it provides meaningful choices. Example: do you want draconic combat buffs, or the vampiric ability to increase a girl's obedience by taking her virginity? There's obviously been some thought put into it, and it would be a welcome addition to a more complete game. The huge set of items available in shops is another pleasant surprise, but it's undermined by the unfinished state of the game. You *can* optimize the player character's equipment (as a tank or assassin or whatever), but combat will remain incredibly tedious due to antiquated design (LMB clickfest with no automation or keyboard shortcuts). Also: shopping for combat gear (or cute fetish outfits) is interesting, but *equipping* it all is a pain-in-the-ass due to sloppy UX (can't drag/drop; no context-sensitive filtering; no side-by-side comparison; building material such as Lumber clutter up the list when you're trying to choose the best amulet).
The Python language makes the game very amenable to modding, but the core code simply doesn't appear to have been written with modding in mind. There's way too much direct manipulation of variables, and the majority of text is hardcoded into RPY files (instead of being loaded from JSON). The game would presumably need a lot of refactoring before it could accommodate SlaveMaker-type character packs.
If this game had been released five years ago then it could potentially have attracted a large fanbase and grown into something great. But in 2018 I can't imagine players and modders abandoning Free Cities in order to focus on this game.
