I interpret it as just a dumb one-off tweet. He made over 100 response tweets in debate against multiple users along with declaring he had blocked the worst of his responses, but most SocJus won't engage with differing opinions at all, so that's a positive sign right there.
His beef is that the women are apparently subservient(nice spelling error David) to the guys and aren't heroines themselves to match. Anyone who's actually into comic culture would understand that:
A) no matter how much they may claim to, women don't read american cape comics.
B) if they did, they wouldn't pair up with the guys because chances are they would look nothing like a character that correctly "ships" with their matching guy, or pick a heroine that is canonically a bad match for their date
C) they're already mixing Marvel(Captain America and Iron Man) with DC, a disgusting faux pas only tolerable by their Power Ranger-esque color scheming.
D) it's clear that the ladies picked their dresses and matching men's outfits, and the guys just happened to devise a hero scheme to go under their formal dress.
Women wouldn't cosplay at their prom, and as it is the guys aren't either since it's undershirts. Arguing that this is a "sexist" picture is fucking stupid, but David Jaffe's career history of edgy games and his behavior do not indicate feminist ideology. He just put his foot in his mouth and proved how little he understands cape comics, comic culture, and kids in general.
