Kind of. What I'm saying is that, when it comes to biased reporting in the Canadian media, there are no borders. If a GamerGate supporter in Japan or the Netherlands watches a CBC news report slandering GamerGate that a Canadian GamerGate supporter recorded and put up on YouTube, then they can all file complaints as long as they have access to the Internet or a fax machine.

The bottom line is that no one should think their voice isn't being heard. The CRTC rep I spoke to last year said that they'd received a lot of complaints about the "q" episode featuring the "Law & Order: SVU" clip, so we need to keep up the pressure, especially since, if the CBC screws up badly enough, we might be able to cause them trouble when they next renew their broadcast license or cost them government funding.

Johnathan Ross and Russel Brand got fired from the BBC for a comedy sketch that had only 2 complaints.

As mentioned in the Reddit post, based on the responses we've received so far, our best bet would be to point out lies and inaccuracies made by journalists and others employees of a particular broadcaster. Private citizens, academics, and interviewees can say anything they want about GamerGate without consequences, but people actually employed by the broadcaster have their freedom of expression significantly narrowed. That's why Brianna Wu was given free reign to lie about us during three separate interviews but Matthieu Dugal, a radio show host, got reprimanded and was forced to apologize after calling one of us a Holocaust denier on social media.

The point I was making is that its not really about the volume of complaints its about the content of them.

Just one complaint can get someone fired if its a legit complaint.

Thanks for the info I just looked in to this again.

Apparently two complaints were received in the week following the show which resulted in the firing.

Many more complaints were made later, after the incident created a storm on social media. Presumably by people who didnt see it.

Yeah, I know. I'm just doing my best to find something we can use to our advantage. We've had the Prime Minister of Canada come out against GamerGate and President Obama stopping just short of it, so anything that can potentially give us the upper hand is welcome at this point. I think that the diggers and other GamerGate supporters are more inventive than I am, so it's just a matter of finding something and making it stick.
