When 5chan (owned/operated by a human porn pirating site admin with a Russian underworld income) constantly tried to knock 4chan offline to steal the imageboard market in early 2004, the majority of Furries sided with 5chan because it had a /fur/ board. Anons never forgive.
Furries were also hated on a lot of other-fandom forums (Anime, Fanfic, etc.) sites because they would obnoxious flood or otherwise ignore that purpose of the sites, and up the volume when told to stop. 4chan saw "Furry Friday" floods as a regular thing, and back when quality threads would stay on /b/ for over a week, those got deleted due to the board post number limit. (But as a result of that, "Caturday" was invented-- the furfags doing the flooding where American, however it was Saturday in Australia..)
The Fursecution from SA got a little migration into 4chan, but the majority of Anons were anti-SA too.

It used to have a large furry and Brony community but later just degenerated to just rage comics and /pol/ memes.
It was pretty cool for the time, despite the constant drama among users. The site even had it's own boards for furries and bronies but most of them are dead due to intruding moderators and the site as a whole becoming an extremely hostile place. Mostly thanks to the Admins ego and flat out spineless behavior.
Last time I checked the site Admin tried to make Patreon and sell thongs with the FJ logo on it to pay the Server bills, so karma I guess.
