目前竹塚正迅速成為「中華街」，記者在那裡看到的是，所有排隊的餐廳的招牌都是中文寫的，到處都沒有日文。此外，同一街區內還有中國美容院和超市。當記者走入這家剛開業一個月的餐廳時，發現整個菜單都是用中文寫的。
