不过，对于解放军部队来说，歼10C战机多用途能力不足的问题，并不是非常明显。因为，解放军空军还有苏35、歼20、歼16、歼11BG等一系列三代半战机或者第四代战机，在先进战机数量上，达到了1000多架，拥有绝对的压倒性优势。
歼16或者歼11BG战机，已经能够承担对地对海打击任务。对于歼10C战机来说，这一点并不迫切。对于台湾省的F16V战机来说，则是另一个情况了，需要承担空战、对地、对海等一系列任务，有点“强人所难”的味道。
