The economics of open source by C J Silverio | JSConf EU 2019

In your Technology Section you could feature embed related.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=MO8hZlgK5zc

The talk may be boring to some, but since I LOVE JavaScript, I found it fascinating.

Also, the ideas surrounding freedom, open source, decentralization and capitalistic domination of technological advancements are explored nicely by her.

YouTube video published on Jun 3, 2019…

The JS package commons is in the hands of a for-profit entity. We trust npm with our shared code, but we have no way to hold npm accountable for its behavior. A trust-based system cannot function without accountability, but somebody still has to pay for the servers. How did we get here, and what should JavaScript do now?

It's a nice read too…

Thanks, REAL Killcen.

I actually enjoyed the lecture, and furthermore, watched another from the same conference delivered by the creator of Node.js.

He gets even deeper in the weeds, but because, like Killcen, I LOVE JavaScript, I soldiered through and learned a lot.

Programmers are people too,

Autobot posted this to the front page of https://freedomzine.hashbase.io last night. I guess Killcen has once again found a way to get his articles on the front page of somewhere, even if it is just another dead website. In this case, however, he was actually able to peak the interest of someone, even if it was only 'Autobot'.

As for pic related…

Whatchyu up to, Killcen?

Sam Hyde says you're working with him!

What gives?

How do I get rid of every single module in my web browser? Do I delete all the javascript rappers? Where do I find these JS rappers? Are they hidden in about:config?

Here's one!

And yes, by all means, do a bunch more tweaks in about:config that you don't fully understsnd.
