what should I look for in a good treadmill and treadmill brands? Family was trying to talk me into nordictrac until we read the return policy, and their fucking (((10% restocking + shipping taken from your refund))) bullshit. So far, I've been eyeing Precor and Sole as my choice of brands.

<Just walk outside fgt.

I have my reasons why I wouldn't want to walk outside when the weather is dogshit, especially when it's raining again, or if the clouds are puking a stream of cold white garbage. pic related solely for the sake of topic.

get an ergometer instead

It's very simple in my opinion. Treadmills are generally oriented around endurance running (jogging) and that generally has a negative effect on health in the long run. You have to ask yourself if you would still want to do what the treadmill will force you to do if you did not have the treadmill in the first place.

this OP, endurance is a waste of time and hurts you, the cardio device you use must facilitate sprints under resistance

get a rower, elliptical or exercise bike instead of an oversized and expensive treadmill

You guys are just repeating what some fearmonger told you without bothering to actually look more into the buzz. No worry, it's way too easy mistake to fall into, happens to a lot of people.

this was the most immediate resource I could find on having a negative viewpoint to endurance running, along with its linked sub-sources. Furthermore, the dangers of endurance running apply less to the average anon looking for a daily cardio machine, and more towards people who literally run so hard they DENT THE FUCKING TREADMILL FRAME WHEN THEY USE IT.

I'm not counting out the possibility of used treadmills, I'm just looking for advice on good brands that last.

every part of the body is finite. the heart only has so many beats, the lungs only have so many breaths, and so forth. the knees can only take so much stress, so if you jog, especially on hard payment with inappropriate footwear, you're really wearing down your knees. sprinting is much better, but it's not really possible to do inside the house unless you live in a mansion. around your house, sure

yes the key to cardiovascular health is to keep your heart rate as low as possible at all times that way you are rationing your beats people who elevate their heart rates and SUSTAIN that are all at risk for heart disease/ they die prematurely. SCIENCE RULES

sprinting requires maximal effort it is extremely easy to get injured real sprinters go for regular runs and do a ton of stretching and submaximal running. only tryhard faggot HIIT instagramers advocate sprinting as a substitute for real cardio what a bunch of delusional lazy retards you all are

>weather is a reaon to stay inside

Look up how to layer. I jogged a mile while it was snowing in 30 degree wearing some light long sleeve clothes.

At two miles above sea level, I can run flat out for a half mile before my hands start shaking.

Maybe you should just sit inside and shitpost. Doesn't use knees, keeps your heart rate low, and you can breathe easy.
