Hey guys, so I'm considering getting into swimming. I plan on going weekly. I can swim, as in, I can not drown and swim the length of the pool a couple of times. Are there any resources or tips that you guys can offer for improving on my basics and becoming a stronger swimmer?

Literally just fucking swim. You won't get better at swimming unless you swim and kind of just figure it out for yourself. If you want to get professionally good at it then yeah a trainer will help after you've been swimming for a bit, but otherwise the whole goal is to just work muscle groups and burn calories.

I suggest breaststroke as it's the most efficient for supplementing chest/shoulder work. Freestyle ("front crawl") is also an option as is backstroke. Ignore faggots who shill butterfly or scissor stroking. Scissor stroke is fucking autistic as shit and I don't know why it's even a thing, and butterfly stroke is just an autistic version of breaststroke. Literally all you need to learn is breaststroke and backstroke. Breaststroke will be your main stroke for gaining depth and for propelling forward (keep your head level with your back underwater instead of doing it from the surface, faggot), backstroke will be your survival stroke in case you're ever stranded in open water because it uses the least amount of energy of any stroke. Freestyle is just for cardio purposes because you can go really fast and splash the dumb bitches who are playing in the pool. Also use breaststroke to stay underwater so you can watch the qt wearing a skimpy bikini when she jumps around in the water being an idiot. Underwater bouncing titties are great.

Oh, one piece of advice is to drink water because you do sweat even when swimming, and to only increase the laps you do by 10% every week unless you want to risk muscle injury.

I'd love to swim but I don't want any of these nasty ass infections you catch at public pools (no burger, so no pool for myself)

The concern with first-world pools is chlorine, it absorbs through your skin and lowers test. Not to mention the fact that it is inevitably going to get in your ears, mouth and nose as well.

Your best bet is to swim in natural waters, like a pond or a lake.

The type of chlorine they use is inactive in most cases, it's just a high acidity. Just sweat a bit after swimming, wash with warm water only 2-3x/week, wash with a chlorine removal soap/shampoo (and maybe aloe vera), and apply lotion when you're done swimming (preferably oil or water based- avoid the alcohol and glycerine lotions).

t. Swims 6x/week in a public pool/sits in a public sauna afterwards for 10ish minutes, and hair/skin is fine other than being dry

And obviously take a cold/lukewarm shower on the other days
