Can you still get joocy and shredded without going heavy on all your lifts, as long as you go for high reps?

6b3893  No.134041

>>134029

yes, but optimally you will want to mix in both of them, because they offer different kinds of stress to your muscle

But if it is possible to achieve a muscular and aesthetic physique w/o the heavy weights, then why risk the chance of injury

You still have to lift heavy, just not as heavy. The risk of injury is pretty slim if you aren't a retard.

The weight vs volume debate has some interesting results. Basically, BOTH high weight and high reps help with BOTH strength and hypertrophy, with the differences between the two regimens being pretty small.

Injury is only possible because you are weak. Lift heavy weights to become not weak. If you want to develop your shit first, then don't go above 75% of your max and hover around 60% most of the time, doing a lot of variety and volume for each body part, leaving some in the tank so your CNS doesn't get fried and you're "always in control" like the little soy boy in you craves.

Maybe try tri-phasic training, and definitely focus on core (and low back) strength.

Ronnie Coleman is not weak, but he still fucked up his knees by squatting heavy.

And his only regret was he didn't squat it for more reps before giving out. Stop being a faggot

Yes but what if I'm not a masochist retard like you who wants to permanently fuck up his joints

137c76  No.134161

The chance of injury is probably higher with high reps, joints and tendons don't really get along with too many repetitions.

If you lift low weight for many reps you get old man strength. It's the appearance and endurance of a 60 year old guy who's been doing blue collar work his entire life. He can toss haybales all day but he can't lift truly impressive amounts of weight. His muscles have some definition but it's covered by a good layer of fat and just makes him look "big" in general, rather than aesthetic.

Use a better example, like a blacksmith or construction worker. What is low weight to you? If you shovel, you shovel faster with less breaks while eating more to get ripped, or less with more breaks to get fatstrong, or use shitty lazy form and just be a scrawny slacker. It's about intensity, which you can get from anywhere.

Gymnastics would be good for OP, but there's a lot of benefits from weights. If you have DBs then use them, assimilate the weight and learn what's good about them instead of talking about them without any experience.

false, there is a old man in my gym, with scruffy bald her somewhat like pic related,

he is incredibly thin, must be over 55 at least

its amazing that he can lift the same, if not more, than the buffy youngsters

I admire the guy so I talk to him at times, apparently he just eats to little, weights about 60kg, still its about the endurance he got from repeated effort

it all comes down to:

>>134204

>It's about intensity, which you can get from anywhere.

and in general you will to mix in both, that's why drop sets are a thing and pretty effective
