Im looking to do a cut for about 2 to 3 months after my winter bulk, thinking about doing keto.

>whats a good protein fat ratio?

>how much carbs?

>still do carb loading before lifting?

>change anything about the workout?

>how much calorie cutting?

>cardio?

>stop taking creatine?

>buy a keto measuring device of some sort?

She needs to go a bit lower.

Yeah man.

I'm thinking about keto as well but I think I've heard before that it's better to have some carb if you lift. I'm come back and share my findings if there's anything. For more there embedded.

People tend to lose muscle on keto. Keto is probably the best way to lose weight (other than physician-supervised water fasting), but it's only worth it if you're a fat fuck or really struggling to lose the weight, in my opinion.

>>131848

>I've heard before that it's better to have some carb if you lift

It's difficult to gain on keto. Keto is for losing weight and lifting on keto is to preserve as much muscle as possible while burning calories. Bulking calls for a lot of calories with extra carbs on lifting days for a reason, your body needs the energy if you want to gain mass.

>People tend to lose muscle on keto

Huh, i thought that because the body switches to fats as its energy source, it no longer breaks down muscle when on a deficit, or at least much less.

>>131848

>I think I've heard before that it's better to have some carb if you lift

There's a shitton of information on this, and about half of it caters towards fat fucks so it's almost unusable, im not sure so far. Just went lifting and ate no more than 5g carbs yesterday and today, it went ok at first but then i started shaking and felt sick to the point of almost throwing up on my way home. finished all sets though. Everyone says that the first few days are hell though, im prepared to push through

>>131850

>It's difficult to gain on keto

I don't plan to gain, at least i think you can't gain either way when on a cut. What cutting method do you recommend?

Why no milk products? Its difficult to consume enough protein as is.

 No.131855

>>131854

on keto its more difficult to consume enough fats, you deliberately reduce protein consumption to get into ketosis

Milk has a lot of carbs, obviously.

Well what if you eat tons of meat and protein and eat very little carbs?

 No.131864

>>131861

You can't eat excess protein on keto, either, because it gets turned into glucose (what carbs are broken down into) which knocks you out of ketosis. Hence the 75% fats, 20-25% protein, <5% carbs macronutrient ratio.

>>131851

>What cutting method do you recommend?

Just eat less food and exercise more, it's calories in/calories out. If you're just trying to shred down a little bit, keto should be unnecessary- it's an extreme cutting method for fat people.

Kek I've been doing that for half a year and still lost about 40 pounds.

 No.131866

I've been on keto many times and my takeaway is its great for short term cutting but I would never adopt it as my main diet.

>>131865

>40lb in 6 mo

thats only like 6-7lb a month I can do that in a week. You probably aren't even in ketosis you're basically doing atkins.

>>131767

Don't sweat the protein issue. It's mostly nonsense. Just focus on fat and keep the carbs as low as you can manage. Under 30-50 is ideal.

Don't carb load. Backload after you've been keto at least three to six weeks.

Calories don't matter that much.

Fuck cardio.

Creatine doesn't matter much.

Don't measure ketones.

>Just eat less food and exercise more

Thanks, after my terrible workout on 2 days of no carbs yesterday and a little more research i'll resort to a standard 20% cut. What do you say for macro percentages? Right now im planning 30% carbs, 35% protein, 35% fat

Idk fam I lost the majority of it within a couple of months and then just hovered around my current weight the rest of the time. I eat very little carbs in a day, 90% is meat/fish/eggs and the rest is greeny vegetables like spinach and broccoli.

Mine you I was just slightly overweight when I began, if I was fat I would have surely lost a shitload of weight.

Hey guys instead of lent let's celebrate ramalamadingdong, butter coffee fast during the day (2 tablespoons each butter and cream, cream needed to bind the coffee to the butter). I'm doing it now, it feels amazing, eating any unbalanced carb during my butter coffee fast makes me feel bad immediately.

 No.131897

Why don't you just cut by cutting instead of using some retarded "diet"? A calorie is a calorie, dipshit.

 No.131905

Yeah you guys, I'm not sure if I can quit starchy carbs and trade it for that much fat. I mean I can but I'm thinking my chance of success might be better with intermittent fasting. I tried that last year and lost fat while not feeling too bad. I also count my macros.

I might do a quick cleanse type diet though before I start the calories in / calories out thing again.

Keep us updated though, German bro.

>Why don't you just cut by cutting

Doing that now

>A calorie is a calorie, dipshit

I just read some good things about keto regarding mental energy because your blood sugar levels no longer fluctuate, as well as that its less catabolic than a regular cut.

>>131905

>I'm not sure if I can quit starchy carbs and trade it for that much fat

As for just eating the fat, nuts, cheese and eggs are pretty good. You can also add a lot of oil or butter to your proton shake.

>I might do a quick cleanse type diet

Isn't detox just a meme?

>Keep us updated

I have decided, 15-20% cut at 2400kcal, macros split 30%c, 35%f, 35%p, plus 16/8 intermittent fasting. Maybe i'll reduce the carbs a little more to just carb loading before working out.

Tip: Use a chrome supplement to help stabilize blood sugar levels and reduce cravings. 80mq when you wake up. 80mq around 16:00.

So everyday I eat my scrambled eggs now, I fucking love scrambled eggs now. I also have some tuna although I'm starting to get worried about mercury although I've been fine for the past 4 years so it can't be that bad right? Idk.

What are some good, preferably nondairy, keto foods to have before bed?

Also how the fuck do you eat your vegetables. I'm gonna start boiling myself some spinach because broccoli is fucking atrocious tbh.

>>131767

0.5-1g protein per bodyweight, rest fat

no carbs

no carb loading

no changes to workout

lots of calorie cutting, do a 1000kcal deficit or youll never lose the weight

lots of cardio

stop taking creatine, yes

buy a food scale

>>131897

>A calorie is a calorie, dipshit.

Nope. If you didn't eat any fat youre hormones would tank and you'd turn into a sissy, although you've been one your whole life so maybe you wouldnt notice the change.

all it does is bloat you and empty your pocket. even olympic weightlifters like clarence0 say the effect of creatine is negligible. It's primarily used for bulking, not cutting, anyways.

by far the cheapest supplement

the only real argument i've heard against creatine is increased / accelerated hair loss because it boosts DHT
