Oi Fags!
Now I need some help here.
Where I live, shit is hitting the fan, I started university in september and inflation's been a bitch.
Long story short: The protein sources I was able to afford regularly 2 years ago (When I started lifting, before injury and senior year at highschool stopped me) have doubled or tripled in prices.
That means I can't get a tuna can after each workout, I can't have a small serving of chicken breasts instead, I can't afford to eat 4 eggs a day like I used to…I am in a state of poorfagging. Not really, I have a roof above my head and a comfy bed. I don't have to worry about tuition fees and since I live with my family I am not starving, it's just that their diet isn't the protein dense 0.8 grams per pound diet, and I can't be a financial burden and ask them to pay for all my extra protein, and the money I have and get can't buy me protein like I used to
So I need help on getting as much protein as I can possibly get, cheap and kinda healthy.
>Inb4 get a job
Working on it, but sometimes when you leave home at 7 in the morning and get back 7 at night (with all the time in between being university and travelling to and fro) and school being tough as nails, especially that I need near perfect scores to get into my major of choice (at least this first year). taking a job that isn't freelancing is quite tough.
One more thing, here's a list of protein sources I can think of, so we'd avoid mentioning them.
1-Chicken breasts, tuna, ground beef, sardines: Expensive as heck to buy regularly.
2-Soy: Phytoestrogens
3-Yogurt: technically cheap, can't get greek though, it's also low on fat because they physically skim the cream line from milk before making yogurt
4-Cottage cheese: Possible, working on incorporating it
5-Chickpeas: Have been eating them, but apparently when they get boiled they lose more than half their protein content
6-Beans:Can get them, cheap and all, but we only have broad beans here, not black turtle beans.
7-Other legumes: Most of them lose most of the high protein content on boiling, any tips of cooking them without boiling them is welcome
8-Protein powder: Expensive as fuck
9-Eggs:doubled in price, so I can probably eat 2 a day at most
10-Peanut butter: It's a delicacy here, don't think about it
11-Peanuts, yeah, could work, high in calories though
12-Yeast: Kinda high in protein if you get the right type, tastes horrible though, but I can live with the taste.
Help plz.
