GOD FUCKING DAMN IT BRUCE

>>127843 (OP)

Milk and broccoli are not fucking meme foods >>>/ck/

Pop tarts are meme foods (despite being tasty), as are those tiny little energy bars with low calories and protein. In fact, any high priced food or beverage item with low calories and no significant source of vitamins or minerals - shitty meme foods. I'd also say veggie chips and veggie french fries.

 No.127865

Seriously though. All you niggers worrying about phytoestrogens in soy…there's just as much of them in broccoli even in oats.

There are some, but to say that there's just as much is fucking retarded. There's like 1% the amount in oats.

Veggie spagghetti oughta count too, specially since you have to buy some useless cooking implement to try it.

>2. Soybeans 103,920.0

>42. Broccoli 94.1

Yeah, you are right, that's almost the same number. That aside, Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable and boosts testosterone while being loaded with vitamins and minerals.

 No.127880

>>127879

Broccoli is also a source of goitrogens which inhibit thyroid function. Testosterone production is greatly affected by thyroid function. I'm not saying I know for a fact broccoli will actually lower testosterone because of the goitrogens, but if I had to guess, much of their nutritional benefit is from being a source of magnesium and vitamin K1, which can both be obtained from other sources. Just accepting common wisdom is tempting, but complacency prevents advancement. The best way to know if the benefits of broccoli outweigh the negatives is to look for studies with an experimental design, or in other words research where they introduce broccoli into the diet of animals and humans instead of polling random people regarding their broccoli eating habits. Maybe that sounds silly to you, but as far as I'm concerned people tend to rely on naturalistic fallacies and are simply too dogmatic about many vegetables being healthy.

quick question /fit/

What is your opinion about honey?

 No.128861

>>128860

it's pure fructose and glucose with a little bee stuff in it. unless you believe in bee stuff being magic, you might just as well use any other sugar.

 No.128888

>>128861

IF the honey is locally sourced there have been repeated claims that eating such honey reduces allergies due to repeated low exposure to the allergens, a technique that is currently popular among allergists. whom I do not regard as particularly authoritative sources about their own field btw

So can i eat honey without guilt?

It happens that i find it extremely tasty, even more than sugar. And some people have told me that it would make me fat

 No.128893

>>128891

Those people probably can't eat anything without doing it in excess.

Honey is fine, tons of health benefits to eating honey.

As long as it is locally sources like >>128888 says.

Most shit you buy in stores is only honey in name.

 No.128895

>>128891

Sugar doesn't make you fat. Dietary fat makes you fat. Gains goblins will tell you not to eat sugar. Honey is hardly different from table sugar despite how many claim it is loaded with vitamins and shit. It only has other nutrients in very, very small quantities. The main difference between honey and table sugar is that honey typically has a higher fructose ratio. The only thing you can do wrong with sugar other than extreme excess is to chronically eat it without secondary nutrients, otherwise it is anabolic and health promoting.
