I haven't followed the whole gym-goers internet culture for a while since I have been in an accident and I haven't been able to do weight lifting for 3 years, but recently I heard that there are new ideas.

In particular I understand that now everyone knows that all people with decent results either have god-tier genetics or they use steroids.

It has also been discovered that all scientific training is designed mostly for rodied athletes, and the same thing can be said for stuff like starting strength, stronglifts, etc

So, now the thing is going to the gym two times a week, and only train the posterior chain, with an extreme focus a lot on the glutes and then the upper body, ignoring the legs because it depletes the natural testosterone budget.

Are we finally coming back to our senses? Can we put the lies behind us and start living an healthy and fullfilling life again?

>no legs

We've all seen the different body types in the gym, and they are all mostly results of priorities. Guys walking around with firm pecs the size of tits, broad shoulders, and big biceps, but pencil legs, no lats at all, and lacking triceps and forearms. This isn't because of their genetics, it's because they worked the fun muscles that they can see in the mirror. Proper discipline and balance concerning routine, diet, and sleep are what people need to reach a certain point. Past that point, genetics determine everything. But most guys in a typical college gym will not reach that point. Decent aesthetics are attainable to everyone who doesn't simply have bad genetics or physical disorders.

Why are Slavic girls god-tier?

Because daddy Stalin greatly reduced male population so the men left were able to choose only the most beautiful women for marriage. Praise his genius.

There's a lot of talk about overtraining now, and some of it is real. We know too much cardio (>20 min) kills gains. I read elsewhere that about 60 mins max doing strength training is the limit before negative effects sit in.

>ignoring the legs because it depletes the natural testosterone budget.

I've only ever heard the opposite about large muscle groups, but I'm having testosterone issues and the docs are leaning towards overtraining (while I'm thinking the opposite.)

> I heard that there are new ideas.

Diet has been completely turned on its head. Lies by (((sugar companies))) about (((low-fat diets))) are gone. Did you get enough saturated fat today? Try butter in your coffee.

What I read said there weren't necessarily negative effects after an hour, just diminishing returns i.e. it's not really worth your time after 1-1.5 hours.

Ok so, there are 7 days in a week. Spread it out.

Yeah, I'm doing a 6 day split (partly because I need daily exercise for psychological reasons) and each day lasts about an hour.

That sounds totally reasonable to me. Do you feel like it's working?

 No.126548

>>126545

Yes, my lifts are going up, I'm gaining weight, and looking better. Could be in part because it's still year one of lifting for me, but I keep the compound lifts first as the keystones of each workout and I'm making steady improvements.

>>126548

Well yeah, that makes sense by all known science (except for the whole "overworking part". Good for you, glad to hear it. I imagine you're also taking breaks between lifts and not at max heart rate the whole time.

Yeah, one minute between sets and a few minutes between exercises.

This thread scares me, what's the news? Is it some actual discovery or just another meme fad?
