 No.124112

I drank a dozen beer how will my gains be affected?

 No.124129

Have one of my beers right here. Here are some stats.

per 100 ml

Energy value: 184 kJ 44 kcal

0 fat

2,6g carbs

out of which 0.6 sugar

0,5g protein

0,02 salt

4.5% alcohol

A single bottle of this beer is 13g carbs(out of which 3g sugar), 2.5g protein and 220 kcal

It's not all that bad. But it will not boost your gains in any way.

If you drink like I do, that would be around 8 beers per outing.

At 8 beers we are talking about 1760 kcal which is a lot. Granted you will probably eat too. So a single beer outing can almost double your caloric intake for the day, even if the carb value wouldn't be that high.

Compared to that the caloric value of a 1 liter cola bottle would be lower 420 vs 480(two beers), but the carb value on a cola bottle is 117 carbs(entirely sugar) vs 26g carbs(out of which 6g sugar) on 2 beers.

Beer is by far the superior party drink.

Alcohol inhihibits muscle building, though

 No.124131

>>124130

While that is partially true, you are still more likely to build muscle on beer than on most alternatives.

>arnie drinks beer

Beer is good. Grains make gains.

 No.124148

All the gainz that were created during that period will not be active unless you're drinking. They will only respond when there is alcohol present in your blood stream. Hope you like going to the gym drunk.

 No.124167

Went to the gym after my binge drinking. I drank about 2L of water this morning and a gatorade. Just drank a protein shake all day and ate some bacon because of the caloric surplus from yesterday.

I hit a new squat PR but my bench stayed the same.

 No.124173

Alcohol is alright, it's good for your heart and liver, but you really should restrict your drinking to rest days or to post-workout on cardio days, and you shouldn't drink more than enough to get a buzz if you want to maintain your gains, anon.

 No.124174

>>124112

The hops and alcohol will hurt your testosterone, reducing gains. The beer will also make you fat with all the empty calories, hiding your gains and chronically producing more estrogen further reducing gains until you burn the fat. Which you won't do if you're drinking a dozen beers all the time.

I hardly drink but my friends wanted me to hang out.

>>124175

It was gatorade and water technically. I was sweating alot and I wanted to replace what I lost so I didnt get dehydrated.

I know a guy who smokes weed before working out hes pretty strong IMO for a lean guy anyways. Weed makes me too paranoid so I never smoke it.

Good idea. Try eating it. Decarb it and sprinkle it on bacon or cook it into some butter.

There are so many other things you can get rid of that will mitigate the negative effects of drinking a few beers every now and then. The psychological benefits of IRL social interaction far outweigh any cons of beer, so if I were you I'd hang out.

 No.124204

>>124176

Social gains are worth it but avoid overdrinking. There's nothing wrong with stopping at two or three beers during a hangout and saying no more.

> I had fun once in a while, will it kill my gains?

that is you…

>>124129

while that is true, and the total sum of the caloric intake is waaaay up there, its not as simple as converting all that cal into fat

alcohol in itself already has caloric potential, but for your body to break up that alcohol into usable form it also needs to spend a lot of energy,

hence why drinking leaves you hangover and stress the liver, and possibly shitting liquid as well

the same could be said by anything you consume, doesn't matter if you eat a kilo of raw fat, you would just end up shitting your hearts out afterwards, doesn't matter if you spend the whole day eating meat (we call these churrasco), you just end up shitting bricks, there is only so much your body can absorb in a given time

and finally, it doesn't matter what you do in a unique given day, results come from what you do in the majority of days, that's is what we call cheat day

All alcohol increase aromatase production which converts testosterone to estrogen.

The hops in beer has further estrogenic action, so it is the least desirable option.

Do you still believe it's twice as easy for negative effects to take place as the positive things? Kinda dissuades you from working out when you believe it takes twice as much effort to lose fat and gain muscle, and it takes twice the time to lose all the effort. I mean, you lose either way, don't you? Maybe it's all bullshit. Ever consider that? Ever consider that a week of major inactivity or bad eating can be made up for by a proportional amount of activity and good eating to bring right back where you were?

Pics or it didn't happen, faggot
