I saw this movie years ago and I hated. I too it was too "unrealistic".

but I saw it yesterday and it was one of the most beautiful movies i've seen.

I'll be proactive and recommend this great B&W cinemascope with Jeanne Moreau

In fact I'd like to see it again myself

Jeanne is still alive at 87 years old

Don't know but I think there's a lot of gibberish in there.

have you seen any of zhang's other films? specifically hero and curse of the golden flower, they're done in a similar style to that one, and man is it a sight. "raise the red lantern" is supposed to be his best but I have yet to see it

>>4757

it's 1990, I'm pretty sure it's his film "Dreams," which is I think a film he made of a couple dreams he had. I saw it once some time ago but I was too high to remember what I watched, frequent mistake

I submit the film Gimme Shelter, it is ostensibly "just" a concert film, but the way it's put together is incredibly well done and the actual events of the concert are of interest (beyond the music). this is the film where I discovered direct cinema, which is great

Speaking of Gimme Shelter, I think part of the reason Cocksucker Blues was "banned" was because it was too boring. It may be a little more raw, but it's just not as cohesive or interesting as Gimme Shelter.

well, if hardly anyone is visiting in the first place.. seems like maybe less than 10 guys total. i wish it was more active too

anyways, pic related is possibly the greatest film of all time. it's in a special class of completely absurd scifi, with stuff like logan's run and phantasm, but definitely the best and most ridiculous. same director as deliverance which is interesting

Touch of Evil, saw it recommended on the photography board and decided to give it a go.

Damn what a movie. The opening sequence is beautiful and the story gets better with every scene.
