Hello fellow Backmarkers,

Been listening to F1 podcasts for a few years now and in case anybody's interested, here are my favorite ones. Also post the F1 podcasts you listen to.

- Flat Out Fever (http://flatoutfever.com/): by far the best new F1 podcast out there and easily top 3 of the weekly's. 3 Canadians just shooting the breeze, hilarious but genuinely interesting and informative + they've had a few good guests. Long format might not be everyone's cup of tea but I like it.

- Formula1blog.com podcast (http://www.formula1blog.com/category/formula-1-blog-podcast/): another good weekly. Good mix of news and lightheartedness. They've been doing the show for a number of years so they're probably the most established F1 podcast in America.

- BBC's The Chequered Flag podcast (http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/cff1): Awesome short podcast by the BBC featuring news and interviews. Sort of like a short race after-show but in audio.

- Motorsports Magazine podcasts (http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/multimedia/audio-podcasts/): A good selection of one-off interviews with special guests and analysis segments.

- Sidepodcast has a very good one with journalist Joe Saward but it's not very consistent and Joe sometimes pisses me off cuz he's a bit of a hypocrite but all in all a good one.

There's so many more but these are the ones I keep coming back to. What do you guys listen to?

Oh, also, not really a podcast but if you're into this kinda stuff, you should check out Peter Windsor's channel on youtube: https://m.youtube.com/#/user/peterwindsor

I like peter windsor's stuff, but I don't know how much he can be trusted since he vouched for and was connected to the disaster that was USF1, and is generally complimentary of everyone and everything.

I know what you mean, he's perhaps too forgiving of certaib drivers sometimes. In his channel, I really like the occasional special features with Scarbs or the ones where it's Joe Macari and Rob Wilson talking; those are usually hilarious.

>and is generally complimentary of everyone and everything.

He loves sucking Williams' cock to the point of it being annoying.

>seems to think if he fanboys hard enough they'll rehire him

Wikipedia says:

>In 1985, thanks to his close relationship with Nigel Mansell, Windsor became sponsorship manager at Williams. He then worked as general manager for Ferrari's UK base in 1989, only to return to Williams as team manager in 1991.

His LinkedIn contradicts that slightly with:

>Race and Test Team Manager

>Williams F1

>January 1990 – December 1992 (3 years)

I still haven't been able to find any articles from back then that saying if he left, or if he was fired.

He did however work for Sky Sports from 1993 to '97, and I doubt he quit Williams to become a low tier pundit.

Fascinating. His relationship with Nige strikes me as a conflict of interest, and his move to ferrari uk coincides with mansell's move to ferrari in 1989.

I would imagine he was fired once Mansell was out of the picture as that history would certainly imply they were keeping him there because of mansell's influence. And then Mansell went to CART, and that was the end of petey windsor.

Good catch, anon.

The years line up perfectly.

>Mansell:

>85-88 Williams

>89-90 Ferrari

>91-92 Williams

I wouldn't say it was a "conflict of interest", but he defiantly only got the job at Mansell's insistence. The minute that was gone they dumped his ass.
