Taki Inoue in Hungary getting hit by the safety car (which is a Tatra!) while attempting to extinguish the fire that is spreading on his Footwork Arrows-Hart.

This is a fairly common one : Candid Nelson Piquet. Hopefully I can think of something more charming and esoteric…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iIlL1WdjFg#t=32 Not photo but a video. I have to say this is one of the most moving and tragic pieces of video footage that I've ever seen in an F1 Race. Roger Williamson had undergone a fatal crash after being literally burnt alive due to the lack of aid from inept Track Wardens. David Purley, a close friend of his, desperately tries to lift the car over, but to no avail.

>>105 That's a tragic one. Apparently (like in Elio De Angelis' crash) the marshalls did not have fire proof clothing or adequate fire extinguishing materials, and that the flag wavers thought it was Purley's car that had flipped and that since he had escaped, there was no need to red flag.

I like this one of Nelson Piquet and Michael Schumacher, because it's easy to forget that they were once competitive teammates despite representing different eras of F1.
