Post drivers, who in your opinion, were underated/never were given a good chance.

I'll start with Micheal Andretti. He had a brief stint in the 93' season, but I felt he wasn't given enough time to adapt to the electronic cars.

I believe that Arturo Merzario showed a lot of promise (6th place in his first F1 race, success in other racing series), but never got to really shine. Ferrari replaced him and Jacky Ickx for Niki Lauda and Clay Regazzoni in 1974, and after going to Williams, his career in Formula One wasn't really much more than retirements and DNQs. He did establish his own team (Merzario), which didn't do well either…
He was also one of the drivers that helped save Lauda from his Nurburgring crash.

Pastor Maldonado. For all the shit he gets for being crash prone (and lets be real, he absolutely is), he is the only driver in recent memory that has implausibly good performances.

And so I find Maldonado an entertaining wild card on race day.
