Maybe we should have an /eris/ movie night and show mindfuck movies. I've compiled a straw poll here:
http://strawpoll.me/4906082
Also feel free to suggest bumper music to provide padding. It's best to start the stream early with bumpers so everyone know it's live, and to place at least one song between movies so people can catch a bathroom/coffee/smoke break. /ebola/ Movie Night is sticking to the /monster/ format with a 30 minute break between the second and third movies, but we don't have to do that if it doesn't make sense. Maybe 15 minutes would be more appropriate, or perhaps with the bumpers between films already, we don't need an extra long one there. Perhaps ten minutes between every film? It's all open for debate.

Can you add these movies to the poll?

Not without starting a whole new poll, no.
However, they can be included on the poll that would be taken during the screening of the primary movies, to find out what the "afterparty" movie or movies will be.

Damn, August 1 would mean I'd miss it. Pity.

So I'd dare say the /ebola/ movie night was a success on more than one front. Aside from The Andromeda Strain being Mystery Science Theater level bad, it was a good event and attracted people from all over. (I actually asked.)
As would be expected, it attracted the usual share of /pol/acks spouting "the Jews did it" at every possible opportunity, but they were unable to spoil the fun. We also saw the birth of some new (if localized) memes.
I didn't expect otherwise, but it's nice to know for sure. I think we need to proceed with an /eris/ movie night. We already have a vote against August 1, and I would expect /monster/ to run theirs four weeks after the previous (so August 8). I don't think we can properly spread the word for a July 25 screening and people are probably a bit burned out by two consecutive weeks of very long movie nights. (I know I am, but I've been streaming them.) So when do we do this? /ebola/ will probably repeat the week after /monster/, unless there is sufficient interest here to lock down that date (August 15).

This Saturday, 2015/07/25 at 2300 UTC (4 PM Pacific, 7 pm Eastern), I will screen:
• Can Dialectics Break Bricks?
• The Toxic Avenger
• Zardoz
• Cannibal! The Musical
with 15 minute breaks between all films.
This is not formally anyone's movie night, since I'm just picking cult favorites and running them for the amusement of whoever wants to stop in. There may or may not be Overtime depending on attendance and crowd tastes.
Where:
http://connectcast.tv/Mal-2
When:
Saturday, 2015/07/25 at 2200 UTC (3 PM Pacific, 6 pm Eastern), though the stream will start an hour prior to this.
Why:
Because you have nothing better to do.
Notes: Can Dialectics Break Bricks? is thoroughly potato-looking, but it is better than anything you're going to find on TPB. At least this one is in color and has legible subtitles.
Filling the chat with MST3K-style riffing and snarking about the films is not only allowed, it is expected.

Update:
The Dark Knight Rises has been chosen as the Overtime film. It did give rise to /bane/, so it definitely qualifies as a cult film. I have also figured out my pre-show music program. The schedule (all times Pacific, UTC -0700) now looks like this.
1338: Music: Pictures At An Exhibition and The Planets
1500: Can Dialectics Break Bricks?
1620: 15 minute break starts
1635: The Toxic Avenger
1755: 15 minute break starts
1810: Zardoz
1950: 15 minute break starts
2005: Cannibal! The Musical
2145: 15 minute break starts
2200: The Dark Knight Rises
0040: End of The Dark Knight Rises (it's a long film).

Try posting it on /b/ and/v/. It might get removed, but a lot of people will see it before it does. :^)

Important note:
Due to griping from a lot of corners about how I'm pushing legitimate traffic off the board, or being off-topic in general, or the fact that I'm not in this to annoy people – or to take personal abuse from assholes – I will no longer be sending invitations to any boards unless at least one film is directly relevant to that board.
This message is going to all the boards I have been notifying, and only some of them have had objections. Some of those objections were polite and well-reasoned. Some weren't. A quick search of the thread to which this is posted will reveal which category you likely fall into.
If you want to keep up on the movie nights that I run, you'll have to add >>>/nacht/ to your browsing list and check it once in a while. Weekly would be sufficient, most likely.
The selection of movies this time around caught more crap from all directions than any previous list, primarily from people saying none of these were mindfucks. (How is Donnie Darko not one? I'm still not sure I entirely understand it.) Those same boards decided polls are plebeian. Yet if I'd chosen films entirely by myself, they'd just have a single target to focus their hatred on. That would be the only difference.
In any case, I won't plan another /eris/ night without considerably more participation from the crowd than a handful of votes. If you want another one, start having a discussion about what should be in it.
