We need less regulations and licenses that prevent us little guys from starting some small trade or business to feed our families, we need less taxes that make everything expensive while stealing steal our hard earned money, we need less government-subsidized monopolies like Google or Microsoft that give us shitty services and kill competition and only exist because of government help, and lastly we need more property rights to be able to keep our wealth and even pass it on to our children so that it can accumulate over generations.

The Soviet Union was also kept alive by the prices of the oil that it exported to western countries, and when the prices fell in the 80s, so did the shitty economy that was based on it.
The best period of the Soviet Union was when it was most decentralized during Kosygin's 5 year plan which introduced profit into the economy, but the central planners decided to scrap it because despite the wages and standard of living rising, it didn't raise "productivity" enough.
