It's because the alt-right, incels, etc. are all controlled opposition, manufactured stereotypes meant to provide a strawman for whatever the people with influence don't like. They may not have started off as such, but considering how easy it is to make posts online and use them as "proof" that (x) group is evil/dumb/incorrect, it shouldn't be surprising to see how these places got co-opted.

We'll see when I'm 40, I think I may have come to terms with my doomerism by then, but what you said strikes a chord with me because there is a small part of me that knows my current state is a product of no gf and no job.
