I recently went back to instagram to dethrone DJ Khaled and challenge him to go 1v1 mid in CS for 500 euros. Luckily for me, my zoomer friend is guiding me in what to post there to reach max cancer mode, she is real treasure.

Not just me, huh. I created a twitter account for the sole purpose of a few follows & reads and was suspended within 6 hours of creation, only having followed one other account.
I'm thinking those of us that browse chans along with any other wrong-think browsing have gotten our digital identities flagged on the "no fly list" and are deemed to be instantly silenced (or at least diminished) on any common, big data controlled, platform.
If I made any real money I'd probably suffer instant audit/asset seizure.

their stock market valuation is dependent on how many users they have and how many shitposts per hour/day/month are made. They could make their own lives so much easier…

I thought I was going insane, when I tried making an account it got locked right away and asked for my phone number, I didn't feel like putting in my phone number and 24 hours it got suspended. Why the fuck don't normals talk about this?

It's totally normal twitter asks everyone for their phone number. Some sns/apps won't even allow you to register without phone number. Since daypeople have phones connected even with their toilet paper, I'm not really surprised it presents no issue to them.

1) Use proper terminology.

The other accuont have an obviously false name, and I just use to post porn drawings of famous people. You guys are obviously doing something wrong.

Not really, or do they? I mean, they lost some userbase not so long time ago because Twitter decided to be too much PC but alternatives might come and format of twitter posts is not for everyone.
Sorry, agenda is pretty word but it all boils down to money, same reason why YT is doing it now and why Facebook is deleting profiles and pages/groups as well. Advertisers don't want their ads on platform with """controversial""" content. I know it's beautiful to believe that ebil sillicon valley corpos want to shift public narrative or whatever the fuck but it's just mask they wear. They want to be trendy, they want to appeal to what appears as major consensus (political correctness) but truth is they do it simply to survive as company and appeal to advertisers, period.
>inb4 marxists and anarchists are on twitter, isn't that rad, dude?
Because it's not hot topic.
Anyway back to this:
>>23038
>but I honestly wonder, are they retarded in their heads?
Yes. Corporations and not even so big ones as Twitter are usually very detached from reality or "from what people really want". It's common thing, especially in tech field. You know that classic case - We implemented feature/made change no one asked for and its change for the worse but only we believe its change for the better? They can afford doing this until they hit the wall with some major fuckup. Look at Apple and shit they are pulling out of their sleeves, making buttmad even their hardcore fans recently and still they grow. God bless investors. I wouldn't really call Twitter a success though. They are not growing or anything and I think Twitter is as platform pretty much near death same as Facebook. Yes people have their accounts there but these sites are beyond their prime time. Gab is not viable alternative to Twitter same as Minds is not viable alternative to Facebook simply because they started as "the edgy alternatives" and no one except people who want to read le rad right trad stuff goes there unironically.

I remember on Facebook account I had, I could do literally anything what other people couldn't, maybe because I had it for very long time or something, I don't know. For example I know some people couldn't change their name there without restrictions or additional verification, I could do that anytime I wanted and change my name to whatever the fuck I wanted. I don't know how Twitter really works though. I registered there 1 year ago, it wanted from me phone number so I deleted it.

I think it's worse in western countries because other countries always have the excuse of muh diverse culture, stop being rayciss.
Twitter allows Arabs to discuss throwing gays off buildings pretty openly, but if you try that in the US, you're gonna get banned.

Damn, okay, I forgot about that. I had account on mastodon.social for few months only to shitpost but I know you could basically create your own one if you wanted to (because it's software and not "the social media platform"), which resulted in many mastodon sites with like 1K userbase. Not sure if that is good or bad, but since many of them were at that time sort of anime oriented, I didn't bothered with them with exception of some game dev mastodon, can't remember the address now.

Social network sites changed a lot and I don't know if they somehow died out or I just don't understand them anymore. People don't use them to share anything they care about anymore, rather they use them for virtue signalling, means of communication (f.e. a lot people have facebook only because of messenger) or reposting dumb gifs. I talked about this before but I have to say again that groups or individuals who talked, shared and enjoyed the art on sns are gone. People spam their art and links, yes, but it feels different, like free advertisement rather than "guys I made this, what do you think? enjoy!".

sames. It always felt odd to me to put a profile out there which carries my real name and everybody can look it up if they feel like it. You can get lot's of information about someone by simply looking at their "likes" for example political orientation which you aren't supposed to rub in everyone's face. It's some serious dystopian shit and people see nothing wrong with it.
>>23212
>if they somehow died out or I just don't understand them anymore
They're just getting increasingly shallower. Instagram and Snap are the most popular ones with zoomers because all you do is look at pictures with barely anything to read. Less time looking at content equals more time looking at ads.

That might be the word I was looking for. I think anyway that those sns are for people who either have interesting life or can pretend they have one. Anything posted there seems to me too much boring so I don't get why people spend time there actually going through other people's uploads.

These networks prey on peoples bad emotions (jealousy/hate/greed). People feel drawn to these because they were relevant for our ancestors survival. That's also the reason why newspapers seem to mostly consist of bad news.
-You see in a post your friend and his gf travelled to [tourist trap] and instantlyy get jealous and wonder why your life is so shit.
-Then you see a video of cute cats or whatever makes you feel good and instantly feel better about yourself
I forgot what the word for it is, but it's pretty much the same principle that applies to a girl who always comes back to her abusive BF. There's also a good chunk of further psychological trickery behind the scenes. (FOMO, instant gratification etc.) All of this still works even if you're aware of these mechanics.
I'll post some books on the matter in the book thread
