For any who are interested, feel free to read. Others just ignore or post hate crimes ITT
Have fun
pic related is from boat when shipping back to ddorf from Kaiserswerth
on the left side is the ddorft old town, the right side you can see the rhine tower

This was my first impression when I arrived
my train arrived in ddorf at 06:30 on a sunday. The train station hall was quite full of people already but outside. Nobody
The entire town felt like a ghost town. No cars, no people. Surreal
Later I found out what the reason for that was. The night before, they had a city festival. That also explained the broken glass bottles everywhere on the streets.

My hotel was right in the train station quarters arab/turk/balkans town
So I walked to hotel and gave them my luggage so I can go city exploration until official check in.
This was my first impression of Königsallee (transl. king's avenue)
Duck family walking around in ghost town on a sunday morning at 7:30
notice the little ducklings in green color near the pillar
This is like the most expensive and most fancy street in entire Düsseldorf. All those luxury clothing companies have a flagship store there. Also 2 luxurious hotels. Next time, if I should visit again, I go in one of those hotels.
There is a subway station right there and the public transportation is 7€ per day, you can travel anywhere you want, by bus, train, subway.

No.22758
This is how Königsallee looks like.
In the middle there is an artificial river/pond.
Left and right of it you have 2-lane steets, each side into its own direction.
It looks very beautiful. You can feel this germanic autism to align everything perfectly and plan everything into perfection.
They did a good job here. In Srbija, the grass would look brown, the trees would be not aligned and the water would be brown (with gypsy kids playing inside it)

In general, ddorf is a pretty green city
I was impressed. You walk a few blocks, and there is another green space with ponds, rivers or fountains. Really beautiful.
Düsseldorf is named by the Düssel river (Dorf means village)
Düssel is like a smaller river that encircles the city. Today most of the streams are either underground or artificially built into canals

When you walk down the Graf Adolf Street, you arrive at the rhine boardwalk.
On the left side, you have the rhine tower and media haven (Medienhafen).
The rhine tower feels very majestic when you are standing there
I hope I managed to capture it here
On the middle you can see the old seaport area. The seaport was now migrated a little more upside the rhine and this area is now filled with newspapers offices. They call it Medienhafen (media haven) because mass media companies are so prominent there

No.22761
Here some more about Medienhafen
They have some fancy architecture style there
They also have the allegedly best Currywurst restaurant in town there
Of course I missed it but when I go next time, I will try their currywurst as well
They have 7 different sauces from super spicy to mild and fruity

They have rabbits walking around freely.

This is the rhine river seen from the boardwalk.
On the right side you can see the rhine knee bridge (Rheinkniebrücke)
It connects Düsseldorf with Niederkassel on the other side of the river. A few kilometers there is the Oberkasseler Brücke that connects the old town of ddorf with Oberkassel on the west side of the Rhine.
Those ships you see. They are majestic. Especially when you sit on one of the smaller tourists ships and one of those giants just moves past you.
Do you also see how Oberkassel/Niderkassel practically has the entire rhine board left empty? This is by design. They call this the festival meadows. In summer they have festivals there and they did not allow anyone to build anything there. It is a giantic space

This is the Mannesmannufer (Mannesman boardwalk).
It goes from Johannes Rau Platz (a free area below the Rhine knee bridge) all to the Düsseldorf old town. Maybe 1.5km along the rhine river. Very beautiful street. This is the upper part of the boardwalk. They also have a lower part where the ships dock on. On the lower part of the boardwalk they have cafe's restaurants and bistros.
Also, in May every year, they have the J-Day (Japan Day).
This is an open festival for Japanese culture and the festival terrain is this entire Mannesmann boardwalk from under this bridge until the Castle in the old town. I missed it by 1 week so I cannot say much about it but I intend to go there next year for the J-Day

Here is one of the tourist ships.
I am standing on the upper part of the Mannesmann boardwalk and below you can see the lower boardwalk. It is interconnected by stone stairs.
This was on a sunny day. When I took the ship, there was maybe 5 people only (because cloudy and on a wednesday)

This was from another day
I took one day to explore the Japanese town.
The Japanese town is on Immermann street.
Immermann street connects the train station north part with the city center.
Japanese town yes, but you will not find any japanese parks here or Japanese shinto shrines. It looks pretty much like this.
Japanese Restaurants and Asia shops
you can find pretty much anything.
In one of those stores I found a typical Hong Kong iced tea even
Düsseldorf is also called the Japan of the Rhine. Here lives the biggest Japanese Diaspora of Europe. Also the reason why they have this J-Day every year.
The Japanese quarter was very fine. Shop owners all walk around in Shirt and Chinos. There is no filth on the streets and people dress nicely on the walkways. No sharded glass on the streets. Japanese shop owners are super polite and nice. Very very nice experience. Bought a bottle of tea from one guy he was so happy and it was the best green tea I drank ever.
Literally no bitterness even when it was ice cold.
Compared to where my hotel was arab/turk/balkans quarter right at the train station this was like another world.

One of the Japanese restaurants
I am not that much into their cuisine tbh as I don't like fish
but if any of you yurofags are into it and don't want to travel to Japan, this would be a perfect alternative. There is about 30 different restaurants everything from cheap noodle shops to high class meat and fish restaurants.
I just wished the buildings were in Japanese style too with an occasional japanese themed park and shinto shrine put in between but hey, you cannot have all…

This was more for me
This is an authentic Cantonese restaurant. You can eat here typical Hong Kong food.
I used the oppurtunity to finally try out authentic Cha Siu Bao (steamed barbecue pork buns).
I can recommend this to anyone who wants to try out authentic dim sum and is in town. It is located in the train station quarter, so my hotel was not far

This is cha siu bao
it is a steamed bun, filled with bbq pork and oyster sauce
it tastes sweet and salty at the same time. very interesting
what surprised me most was that the bread was fluffy instead of slimy
I mean, this is steamed, so you would assume the water must have made the bread slimy
If I come again, I will come back here to eat more of this
The shrimp dumplings were nice too.
Also tried steamed dumpling breads with vanilla and with maroon filling
both are tasty

This ship tour cost like 20€ and the beverage is included in price. I honestly have no idea how this pays out for them. There was like 6 people on our ship. This is from yet another day
I was at confiserie Heinemann
I implore you to stop by if you ever go to ddorf.
They are stellar. This Heinemann guy seems to have gone to confiserie school in Switzerland. They are allegedly the best confiserie shop in entire germany. Their champagne truffes are legendary since 1968.
All their sweets are bombastic. I ate a blueberry cake in their flagship store
I got myself various chocolates and pralinés, they are all wonderful.
Seriously, if you have the chance, do not miss them.
Funny side story:
>be at heinemann store near königsallee
>sunny day, don't want to buy chocolates now
<excuse me madam, when do you close shop
<I would like to come back again to load up on chocolates
>oh then you are flying back home tonight?
>like to mosmy mom's cunt?

cuckime convention time photo: weeaboos taking out cash from their savings account to blow on plastic crap and overpriced food
the convention centre is north of golzheim
pretty much near the airport
so you take the subway there is a station nearby. I went there at 11:00 to eat at a local restaurant before going to con.
The weeaboos were filling the streets even 1 hour after official start of convention. I finally understand what BO meant when he once said he hated us, same in hotel also. Entire week is silent then on friday evening the weeaboos arrive for tomorrows convention. Noisy all of a sudden
Then I sat there waiting for my meal. 3 boomers were there sitting and enjoying morning with each other. The lady was complaining she cannot get her daily pretzel because the weeaboos are filling the bakery store that was next to the bank building.
Very nice atmosphere in restaurant btw. Friendly waiter and he even let weeaboos use his toilet for free. Food was nice too.

they let us walk zig zag lines
very professionally organized
keep in mind this is 25K people who attend every year.
they did a good job at organizing this.
However, if you ever do something like that, take an umbrella with you
it was nice because no sun and 20 degr. centigrade. If it was 30 degr. and sunshine, standing there even 10 minutes would fuck you up for the rest of the day already.
