Too little too late for most. Regardless of that this whole bee leve and bee yourself stuff doesn't really work as >>20270 is saying. His argument is that things will get better for you and that life will go your way socially so long as you change your mask to be more accommodating towards you. To change your mask you must accept the things that make you "unique" and not be insecure about them lest they make you an outcast. To compromise on this "what society wants" vs "who you are". Issue with compromise is you never get what you want in this scenario. If you are not what is expected of by society, then you are outcasted and shunned. If you are not true to yourself than you die on the inside. If you follow a compromise between the two then you never get what you want and neither do they, everybody loses. The only way to win the game is to be both and few are born that way. For the average person, a compromise just means an average, dull, boring overlooked life. Disposable. The people who conform are the ones who are souless zombies or die inside every day on their path that way. The ones who do not care have their soul and dreams at the cost of a community. Different societies have different rules surrounding them but for the most part it matters little. To play the game is to lose. To not play the game is to lose.
If you are an outsider, you belong outside.
