There is this misconception that high IQ = being all knowledgeable good pupil. I went through numerous IQ tests mainly in school and then also by psychologists and whoever the fuck else, scored high, but only thing I had was reason, ability to reach logical objective conclusions quite fast (which is probably advantage in math disciplines like solving those word tasks, space orientation, don't know how you call them in english) and also when you need to have a debate in classes focused on social study/politology/philosophy (rhetoric) or whatever, but that was basically it. Teachers invited me on many competitions in math and physics and whatnot but I was not often in top positions because I missed a lot of required knowledge other kids had, mostly because I found no use for it. If there was something that got my attention, I was one of the best, if it was dumb shit with no practical/enjoyable use, then I couldn't force myself to spend any time on it - f.e. I got almost kicked out once because I failed chemistry tests and I went through only because professor wanted to get rid of my arrogant ass.
They were telling me that I could be always in top schools and truth is that I had no chance to finish any university because of my nature of being predominantly emotion driven person who would rather kill himself than to do something which brings no joy whatsoever. I was also hated by teachers later in high school because I had big mouth and I often criticized their approach, pretty fedora-tier if you ask me now. Just the fact that I'm unable to fit in the regular society and obey by its standards speaks about very low intelligence, because if intelligence measures capability of survival and gaining benefits, then I was always doing spontaneously the exact opposite. I'm a task solver but first I question the purpose of the task and If I don't feel like it's good then I can not force myself spending any time solving it. Kids who were just bright, regular kids, who also could get the knowledge, they are pretty successful now, in most cases at least. Meanwhile I'm sitting here, solving the riddles of existence, waiting for good reason to die so much that even psychologist I used to visit admitted that I'm not dumb enough to be lied to about possibility of having it easy ever in my life, even though I think about myself that I'm just very stupid and I try to fight what people call the correct decisions in life.

The problem is that it often isn't. I took a lot IQ tests, it was even mandatory once for school I applied to. Yes I had few similar instances of this feel before and pretty hard time dealing with it but now I'm here and I'm not sure if it wasn't better before when I at least felt something between shock and repulsion; while now I see it as part of the sick reality. Not only that I have hard time forcing myself to feel anything except occasional anger but often accepting it and feeling strangely comfortable with such horrors. I wanted to go to some regular state school focused on industrial shit (no clue how it is called, you basically do more of IT, industry robotics, mechanized manufacturing, do you know what I mean? it sounds better than it is, mainly boys go there and when they get out they can have stable job) and parents pressured me to go to this "muh elite" school where I heard nothing but how they pick their students, how only best should be there while I was in class with children of mob and drug dealers, carrying pistols, and teens who did drugs and were selling them as well, few of my friends got locked up or ended up in rehab/pregnant before finishing that school. Those 4 years i was there were the most surreal shit I've ever experienced, my every bit of ideals I had were shattered at that time and I got psychological pressure every single day by teachers who couldn't sit in class without having a few shots.

I'm probably this pissed off because I used to be that way and have realized it is stupid to care so now I just drink and pretend to be happy/well adjusted at work. The truth is, nobody cares how smart you are. Even if you are the one that figured eveything out, solves all the problems, etc. You will never be as valued as the 115 IQ middlesmart who has a boat and gets along with everyone like they are best friends.
Seriously, if you are actually smart, your best bet is to find some field you can be self employed in while enjoying the work. A small company of people you can tolerate on a daily basis is the closest I have come to being happy. I prefer being at work to being at home at this point. (I also get to bring my dog which is a real bonus)
So, OP, find something you like to do and start doing it. If you are smart enough, start a small business doing it (after working with someone else enough to know how it is done). College is a meme, I highly recommend a trade as the physical work helps my mental health. Good luck.

Still, their case made me reconsider the role environment can play on IQ. The fact that they're girls so also had to push against stereotypes add to the wonder.
It's worth to note that IQ is not the main determinant of chess ability. Pro chess players are intelligent but not genius range. Main determinant is hard work and conscentiousness (which is also influenced by genetics).

While their may be a genetic factor to it, I belive that environment is the major contributor to intelligence. infants brains are very capable of learning. Keep in mind that children learn a language simply through listening and repeating. Add a second and third language and they'll be a native in 3 languages at the age of 10. the clue is that a kid that grew up with multiple languages will also have an easier time learning a fourth one than the kid who only speaks one language will be able to learn a second language
everything can be applied instead of chess. Teach a kid complex mathematics and you get a good chances it ends up as math prodigy. Of course there's also other factors for example if the kid is even interested.
the first 10 years of life, the brain builds it's foundations for life. The more you teach a kid in that time, the more knowledge and skills it has to build upon. This is why Videogames and smartphones are poison. Every minute spent in front of a screen is wasted because the kid could have learned something during that time, even if it's just climbing a tree or whatever which is a very complex task from a motoric/balance standpoint.

Why do you even care about your IQ, when you clearly have those other issues at play here? In any case, and I'm not sure if this is useful as consolation or actually just makes it hurt more, with that IQ you could unfuck yourself at least a bit. I have a 135 IQ and was pretty certain I was going to graduate well below a 3.0. Then I got into Christian spiritualism and my grades skyrocketed and I graduated above 3.0.
