I just read the news and maybe someone from US can confirm or deny but it seems as Trump (at least that's what our media say) came up with the idea of teachers arming themselves as reaction to school shootings. In Florida they probably already passed the bill allowing this type of stuff and it's surreal. Imagine those teachers, who are sometimes on the edge of breaking down themselves, now carrying guns as well and shooting up the schools, while kids get the guns and shoot up schools too. I can't imagine teachers carrying the guns here in some of the "problematic" schools, I know those teachers, they are psychopaths with severe mental issues. Now I can only imagine what ghetto are some schools in US and most likely also in western Europe with "students" from middle east and Africa. Is this what it takes only if we won't have to accept that school system there and also here in Europe is not working? Something is obviously wrong with schools, kids and society, and the response is arming everyone. This world is heading towards direction I couldn't even imagine in my wildest dreams and I guess I like it, the spiral is going down faster and faster.

tl;dr I should probably stay away from reading news

Tampa fag here. It has already passed in Florida state legislator, true. Many counties are trying to opt out though. Hillsborough County School District, the county that Tampa sits in, has decided that not a single teacher will be armed on premise of school property. Miami-Dade has decided that they will do the same thing.

You're right that it becomes a problem with trusting of the teachers, because there is a growing problem of confrontation between teachers and students. It does not take much to be a K-12 teacher in the United States unfortunately. Many of our teachers are just hot heads waiting to blow up over anything from saying the pledge to having your head down too long.

Policemen won't do shit in a live fire situation. Not here in the US. They'll fall back like cowards and wait until SWAT arrives. Then, SWAT will still dick around for minutes after they've arrived.

This was actually a problem in the community with the last big shooting at Stoneman Douglas. Cops were around and they didn't really do anything at first. Their excuse was literally that they did not have an obligation to.

Its definitely possible…. I got stabbed by a teacher once.

Honestly in high school, i was a bit of a terrorist. I grew up being the class clown and puberty only served to magnify it exponentially, and iwould basically do anything to make the other kids laugh, including being verbally abusive to teachers.

We had this one teacher, and his reputation preceded him as being a bit of a doofus and pushover so i totally took advantage of that and did whatever i could to make him look foolish. There was a rumor that him and his wife got a divorce so one day i said something stupid like " hows your wife?" Or some shit like that.

He stood there, trembling in rage as he was holding a pen in his hand with no cap on it. He became so infuriated at hearing what i said that he instinctively just stabbed me in the stomach with the pen and walked away. I had perfectly timed this outburst with the schoolbell ringing as class was ending and no body really saw it because i sat in the back corner and he sort of blocked everyones view with his body, i swear it happened.

He didnt break skin or anything but that didnt stop me from playing it up and using a small red mark on my stomach to basically blackmail him into submission.

Im not saying i didnt deserve it either, but i think this type of stuff is what OP is referring to.

Anything that can happen, will happen right? Kids grow up so fast
