I h8 my current company
On paper it all looked so good but in reality it is just one giantic tinkering joint
>have hardware engineers who order prototype with wrong components built
>turn on prototype
>boom
>oops we took the 48V transofrmator instead of 12V
>camera worth 1200$ fried
>electronics worth 2500$ go in the shitter
>countless hours lost engineers are calcualted with 95€ per hour
>order electronics circuit boards from supplier
>get them
>everything looks good
>build them into other product
>assembly ready for device test
>fuck it does not work
>look for error
>it is the electronics board
>take look at it
>soldering joint not making electric connection
>complain to supplier
>"sir, the reason for that is that your pads are plated, this is very unusual for this type of component"
>mfw our develipers use holed pads for big pads
>no wonder the soldering connections are shit
>who the fuck designed this shit?
>need to build set of cables for camera
>do not have documentaion for that type
>boss tells me: yeah just use this document it is similar
>okay
>make cable according to document
>want to plug it in
>the connector is on wrong side
>wtf is this shit
>ah yes, for that type we had to change the orientation compared to our standard issue
>had the same shit happen last week with a subboard that was soldered 180 degrees other way round
>order mechanic parts from other company
>we send them chassis, they make drilling and milling for us
>pay them top dollar for "quality work"
>get parts back, expect good quality because not made in china
>chamfer is missing on one drilling
>we cannot assemble the anti water sealing if it is missing
>of course the chamfer is not 45 degrees but an exotic value
>so we cannot do it yourself
>products need to be delivered next week
>ah also there were other parts where we calculated the tolerances wrongly
>we have +- 0.005mm on one side and on the other side as well
>but if both extremes occur in both parts, in sum the 0.01mm is too much and not working anymore
>guess what happened? of course exactly this case
>production of new batch of products
>material is spread everywhere
>in 4 different rooms
>a part of it is in basement
>various cabinets
>nobody knows what we have in stock and how much
>everything is always ordered last minute
>several orders from same suppliers
>every time we pay shipment costs
>miss rebates we could have had for big volume ordering
>have deadline for building of batch of pumps
>2 weeks
>do not have parts on stock
>need to get those buttons, a very special type
>delivery time 6 weeks
standard lines of my boss
>anon why is material missing?
>why is this not done already?
>why is this and that blah blah
So you know what? I told them to find another guy. I quit and by next year I will be free again.
I just could not go on coming home at evening and feel like shit.
Or have paranoia on sunday because monday is around the corner.
It feels so good that I don't have to deal with their bullshit problems anymore.
