It took me quite a few times to win this one, but I finally got it. My reasoning behind my choices was this: First, for my goals:

1) Unaging is too good to pass up, as is cornucopia.

2) I want at least one of each tier heroine to come.

3) I want to capture all of them. (Optional, but it's there)

Second, my strategy was to test INT. The Orc Shameness will debuff INT by 2 when a heroine gets to the phylactery, the Bimbofication gradient is basically a wall, and the one spot that's not yet covered can be hidden behind shocks and puzzles.

The rope was because I had an extra point. It was useful in the end, but I didn't anticipate that.

I took the luck debuff because I'd already tried playing through a few times, and I found that my luck was already trash. (I had multiple times gotten to Avaniel, where I had her down to a less than 25% chance of winning, and I still lost.)

The heroines I rolled were Nyanya, Cynieli, and Katelyn.

Nyanya got herself beaten up by the Orc Shameness, after having danced through my rope of binding.

Cynieli also got to the Orc Shameness, but she beat her. This got her as far as my throne room…but she failed to notice my phylactery, and as a result got surprised and enslaved.

Katelyn got hit by my rope of binding, and then ran into my electrified floor. She's too willful to give up at this, so she ends up collapsing in spasms until she's collected into my harem.

Avaniel just ran into my bimbofication gradient and became a bimbo cum slave.

This is a good one OP, it sure kicked my ass the first 7 or so times I played it, but I finally got a winning strategy.

How good is a CYOA where you can (and even very likely to) lose is rather debatable… At least as a CYOA.

I would much prefer if this thing had some level of determinism in it, instead of rolling for everything. It would even be enough to be able to choose the heroines freely and treat all other "roll" results as least favorable; it's not like "maybe you die lol" is an acceptable ending to a CYOA anyway.

If you want to choose the heroines you can use the Challenge Letter advantage. That's what it's there for. Then you just have to construct a dungeon guaranteed to defeat those heroines, and you have your determinism.

The heroine tiers were intended as difficulty levels - if you want to avoid having to face any sort of challenge, stick to tier 1 and the power of the Dungeon Master should easily overwhelm them even without taking too much care in how you apply it. The "very likely to lose" thing comes from tier 3 heroines, who were designed to be challenging - if you don't want that, choose your own adventure.

For that to happen I'll have to spend at the very least 12 points – and points are very expensive in this CYOA, so I'd have to give up either essential choices or traps which are required to beat them. Which is the crux of the problem – I shouldn't have to spend a huge amount of points in a CYOA for it to actually become a CYOA.

If you didn't notice, both heroines and haremettes of tier 1 are pretty much literally "peasant-tier". Not being able to pick an actual good option without having to roll for your own death is a thing that should not be in a CYOA in the first place.

There's actually 2 wells there, one for water and one for mana, and her main job is to tend to the latter. As a martial class I can't really make use of it but it's also nice to not have it exploding or attracting elementals or whatever

This didn't used to be trapped but the ogre kept constantly leaving his post to sneak food, both leaving the entrance undefended and spreading his stench around the rest of the dungeon, so we had to do something to get him to stop.

Now let's roll some dice and see who we end up with. but first the chosen one:

Bethany, Holy Crusader

Kay's rival who I probably won't let bully. I have a soft spot for the holy aesthetic. And dem tiddies. Time to do some off-site rolling because I don't feel like flooding the thread. Let's follow her adventure. Coinflips are done as high vs low, 1 goes for the lower numbered room option, 2 goes for higher:

<1d2=2, going to guest room, meeting friend

<2d6+8 combat strength, but -5 due to purity=11

<11-35=24 damage taken. Beth survives with 4 hp, moving on to the next room

<1d2=2, going to wellspring, meeting shamaness. Unlucky.

<2d6+8 is… well, best case scenario is 20. Against combat strength 30 due to bonus vs good. And with only 4 current hp it looks like bethany just earned herself an obedience hex.

<2d6+10= 15, not looking too great vs 22, but she still survives with 7 hp, moving on to the next room

<1d2=2, the fungus room and encountering the ooze

<2d6+10=21, easily overcoming the slime. I wasn't expecting it to do much but it would've been nice as it would've dealt damage to her combat stat

<only one way to go from there: electric kitchen

<Instant 4 damage before any checks. Nice. She has 3 hp left

<her will stat is higher than the check, so she automatically continues

<1d6+5 int check=10 vs 12 required means she had no chance of avoiding the second shock, ending up at -1 hp and getting captured.

Going 3 for 3 so far. But there's a bounty on my head, and I'm gonna roll that and save the angel as a final boss

Well, right off the bat I can tell my shock trap will only be good for the instant 4 damage, but hey, she's squishy enough that- oh wait, runic defense. She is immune to shock trap. But hey, that's only one part of my dungeon

…apparently I didn't read far enough. Everybody good-aligned I've already fought should've had +5 hp, in this case only applying to Bethany the crusader, so it didn't end up mattering because she was 10 short of being theoretically capable of beating the shaman.

<1d2=2, only the necromancer was smart enough to avoid the tentacles

<2d6+7, factoring in the pure debuff= 17 vs 35 = 18 points of damage. She survives with 11 hp, then regens an additional 3 for a total of 14

<1d2=2, because why would anybody want my treasure?

<2d6+10=17 vs 30 because good aligned = 13 damage,just barely surviving off 1 hp and bringing her to me having regened back up to 4 and well… it's possible but unlikely.

<2d6+10=13 vs 20= 7 damage, ending at -4 hp and making her my own personal capture. I hope her falling doesn't break her aesthetic too much, but I'm happy to have her either way

GG, that was the most fun I've had with a cyoa in a long time. There was an actual game and strategy to it, and RNG that felt reasonable and integrated, which is pretty close to a first in my books (rolling is not new to cyoas by any means, but this is the first time I've seen it done well

A funny thought:

I will say that I got it again, with a slightly better trap setup and giving up the cornucopia.

The upshot is this: Orc Shameness (will debuff)-> Slave Maid's Mark -> Hypnosis Rune is unbeatable except by Lilith, or Alice if she rolls a 6 and gets a buff from that, or Adriana.

The paths 2-3, 2-6, and 1-4-6 are combat trials. The foreskin golem holds up 2, and is almost a wall. As long as either the naga or harpy do some damage, everything should be fine. They get a buff from Charm, so it should be good. The weakest route for me is 1-4-6, but I'd need some harsher drawbacks in order to shore it up (Maybe the unluck curse? Possible…)

I could maybe have gone with bimbofication gradient in room 2 and put an electrified floor on room 4, emptying room 3. I think that one's due to taste mostly. Worked out.

General question on the mechanics:

It seems to be implied that even if a monster is defeated (or a hazard is passed, in general) it stays alive/intact and still usable for the next heroine. For the White Knight, however, it explicitly says that a slutty heroine would kill him. Does that count as just a flawour text (or rather code word for "no bonus gained"), or is he actually removed from the dungeon?

What do you think?

I think you've misunderstood how combat works. You don't fight a series of rounds, either the heroine is defeated in the first round, or the hazard is. Cynieli kills you, taking 12 damage in the process. You don't get to roll again.

Summary

I went for quality over quantity. I had some close calls, but I came out on top. Taking care of my lust madness will not be a problem with 69+ peasant girls. With Anna the super maid, opulent furnishings, and the endless cornucopia I will live in luxury. I will share in Sara's ambitions. I do not think that Sara will betray me, because charm curse ensures her love for me, sexual prowess will keep her very satisfied, and my dungeon offers her immortality. I'll have Louisa be my body guard. I wanted to assign Lilith to assassinate the political enemies of Sara, but the bimbofication gradient has ruined her. Her intelligence is far too low, so she'll join the peasant girls. If Sara becomes queen, it would be great if she could acquire the area around my dungeon, conceal the entrance to my dungeon, and build a large town in the area.

As powerful as it is, my one regret is that the bimbofication trap ruins new harem members.
