I noticed that you shazbots don't like Discord, or anything else controlled by corps. I understand.

Whats the opinion on something like Pidgin? Something that could be hosted outside of corp interests?

Discord is a platform, and it's controlled by corps.

Pidgin is a program, it isn't controlled by anyone. XMPP (or other) server does all the heavy lifting, Pidgin is just a client. Hell, you can even make Pidgin connect to discord.
