I'm writing something that has a lot of cyberpunk influences and I want to give some subtle nods to the more important works of cyberpunk, but not passing fads. So original GITS manga is in, Mr. Robot is out.

What do you think are the most important ones I should include?

About your sources, I think that you should keep in mind the sci-fi books that gave origin to the movement.

Most of the stuff that's even remotely presentable at this point is just fictionalized IRC/Discord style logs which won't make sense out of context.

The major nods I have planned hint at PKD's pink lasers & amphetamines, a Molly Millions looking character and a Laughing Man sticker. Oh, there's some club-mate and the Mailman's teleprinter in there too.

The Shadowrun universe has been around for some time, also don't forget Gibson's work in general.

Consider some Asimov as well, though that's Sci-Fi-with-some-punk for the most part.
