currently i'm focusing on clearing up my face and getting the pale, porcelain complexion that i've always wanted. I'll link at the end

I start every day by washing my face with a gentle foaming cleanser and a facial sponge. afterwards I get in the shower and use another cleanser to make sure my face is 100% clean, then wash my entire body with castille soap (changing between morning and night)

afterwards I make sure to pat dry and moisturize (once again different products for morning and night) and make sure to wash my face off with cold water. then I put on a facial toner and splash a bit of water on my face followed by either a moisturizer or night cream and an eye cream to make sure I don't have dark circles

every other day or so I exfoliate my lips using Lush-lip scrub and my electric toothbrush then slather on a bit of petro-jelly substitute before i get in the shower to help them get all plump and red/pink

then after I'm done with all the moisturizing and shit I follow with my moisturizing lip-balm if it's just a day where I don't have shit, but otherwise, if I got to go outside, I put on a bit of sunscreen and my protective eye-cream and lip-balm

as for hair, I use an old-school shaving cream style where I apply it using a brush and shave with a regular razor. then I follow with alum and aftershave. because it's like every 3 days where I need to shave, I use that day to do other stuff to

every 3 days, I follow my face wash with a brightening scrub, then shave, then I follow that with a brightening face mask

while I'm not where I want to be atm, I'm getting there. I just did the scrub, shave, and mask today and it feels baby-smooth

I don't really know what I'm doing with my skin, but the fact that I use or have used a few of the same products as you gives me some confidence.

I just started exfoliating with honey and brown sugar. Always thought it would destroy my sensitive skin, but I guess if you moisturize to offset that it helps in the long run?

I do a light wash with Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree Oil castile soap when I wake up and before I go to sleep, as well as a heavier one in the shower.

I moisturize my face with argon oil, lavender oil in a few sensitive spots when I'm going out, and my hands with a cocoa butter lotion. I apply acne medicine (aczone/dapsone) at the same time, which keeps my skin pretty much acne-free as long as I practice good hygiene, wash my pillowcases frequently, and avoid chocolate and dairy products.

Then I use Burt's Bees chapstick.

I've borrowed some of that same skin whitening stuff before but being pale as fuck already I was afraid it would make me look too spooky.

I have a question, might be gross so spoilered:

I've had a lip biting habit for many years, and have developed scars on my lips as a result. I've always thought that you're supposed to leave the skin alone to let it regenerate, which I do, up until the point that it bothers me and I bite it off again…

If I start exfoliating and moisturizing to soften up this scar tissue like one would a callus, is that ultimately just as bad as biting or will it slowly fix the damage?

Any more advice would also be appreciated, I have no idea what I'm doing. My skin is very fair so I guess the challenge is balancing keeping my skin clear without drying or agitating it enough to make me red as a tomato. The worst part is that I have the skin genetics where instead of just getting red in cute places like the cheeks and the tip of the nose, it gets red around my nostrils and looks fucked up and gross. After my acne cleared up as I got older it doesn't seem to be as much of a problem, but I'm still very self conscious about it.

going with more of the natural stuff to moisturize and clean? don't blame ya

i had a hard time using that stuff & swapped over to the stuff I currently use mostly for ease

the Burt's Bees is kinda meh for me. It's above average, but I'd recommend swapping up to at least blistex or something

you might want to get like an actual face wash or something for when you run out of the acne meds

as for your questions, try to stop biting ur lips. i think i have the same habit, but i mostly do mine in my sleep or something

it will eventually go away (not fully, but at least lessen in appearance) when you exfoliate and moisturize your lips. like, regularly moisturize them and exfoliate at most every other day (if you use a scrub like me, you can probably get redder lips)

and as for your nose, from what I've read it's mostly dry skin that causes something like that. if it's mostly gone, you don't really need to worry. but if it does come back you can probably get rid of it by moisturizing around that area a bit better

plus, with your self-consciousness I'd recommend embracing yourself for the qt 3.14 you are

I don't have an irrational preference for "natural" remedies or anything, I just started exfoliating a few days ago with what I had. I might try some of your products if the sugar doesn't cut it.

Burt's Bees has been good for me but you're probably right that something more moisturizing would be better. It's pretty much just flavored wax, where I assume other stuff has more oils and moisturizers, judging by the shiny lips I've seen on girls.

The acne meds are seriously amazing. I got a single tube several years ago and it's lasted me until now. Putting a tiny bit on any red spot immediately stops it before it can become a pimple. I'm going to talk to a new dermatologist and try to get a new prescription, and I wholeheartedly recommend that anyone with acne try to get some aczone/dapzone.

Thanks for the advice and kind words on the lips and nose, babe. Honestly I have nothing to complain about, I've seen many qts in much worse circumstances, but it's still something I'm self conscious about and would like to fix if possible.

the loofah is for the body. the skin on the face is too sensitive for that shit

if it stays like that, see a doctor. other than that, look for scrubs made specifically for the face and try that. otherwise, they have special scrub brushes and other shit like that for the face specifically

btw, i'd recommend getting rid of the loofah and upgrading to exfoliating gloves. they're easier to get the body with

I don't know about honey, but I used toothpaste to clear up my acne, which was horrible. You can also make a baking soda mixture really easily that has the same effect.

I swear by it, I used to get the worst acne, all the way up to fucking cysts on my face. Then I started using toothpaste each night after my shower, it went away, and now I'm super qt. Watch out though, it dries out your skin but if you have oily skin already that's usually not a problem.

I use Eos lemon lip balm.

I shave all boyparts with an electric trimmer.

My washer's broken, so I barely get to wash anything, let alone pillowcases and blankets.

I only shave up to mid thigh because of parents.

Honestly, that just looks like mild friction burn. It's pretty common this time of year, just try to keep your ass somewhat dry and wear less constricting clothes. If those tight underwear don't wick away sweat then throw 'em out. Neosporin and a moisturizer containing a chemical exfoliant should clear it up within two or three weeks.

plus shave and do squats anon shit looking like hank hill

>>286833

Just buy vaseline lotion for your hands. Your parents will probably think you're just buying it to jack off, but you're really buying it to have dainty hands.

Don't use an electric trimmer for anything. They're really efficient but lack all the grace of any other method of hair removal. I'm talking damaged hair growth, irritated follicles, even if you don't notice anything just stop to be safe. My advice is to buy an epillator, hurts like hell the first couple of times but after that it's near painless. As long as you take it slow and easy, your groin will eventually thank you.

Pillowcases and blankets only really make an impact if they're let sit more than a week. The "change your pillowcase every night" thing is broscience. If you're changing the whole set out once every two weeks it's probably not making a difference. Don't sweat it.

>I only shave up to mid thigh because of parents.

>Parents don't allow me to shave my face.

???

If the people around you don't accept "I just like it better this way", and almost everyone will, then come up with some white lie for it. In this case you're looking at "I want to come across as professional" or "It's easier to clean and take care of".

In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

I shave every other day alternating between different parts of my body to save time. I always scrub the area I shave beforehand while in the shower, and then scrub afterwards. I want good skin, but I don't even know where to start, can someone help me? I just want smooth, pale white skin because I don't have to be in the sun all day at all, and I want to look cute.

The fact that I've recently started a manufacturing job where I sweat for part of the day doesn't help me be optimistic in having decent skin at all. It doesn't really require I have any upper body strength, but at the same time I've only worked there for two days with 12 hour shifts, and already sometimes my body gets pimples in random places on my chest/belly, and a lot on my back.

My forearms kinda have coarse hair already, too, but that and the darker skin (you can tell where my t-shirts cut off light on my biceps) have been there for years.

Next issue spoilered for being disgusting. My shoulders are absolutely horrendous. They're covered in (blocked pores?) these blackhead things that i can squeeze a waxy substance from, and big pimples like to form there constantly. Even my face isn't as bad as my shoulders, because I wash my face whenever it starts to feel oily, but I can't exactly wash my shoulders without taking my shirt off in the bathroom, please, someone tell me what to do. I don't know how to exfoliate, if that's where my problem is, I always wash my whole body with a wash cloth and crappy Axe body soap that I can't afford to replace.

My questions are, is there a way to cut down on arm hair and make it softer permanently? Chest hair? Can I lighten my skin on my arms to be white?

How can I keep myself from getting these nasty pimples despite the fact that I sweat sometimes during the day? How can I keep it from happening on my back?

How can I make the majority of skin on my body softer and smoother as well? How can I remove dimples?

How can I make my face smoother if I keep getting acne on my forehead and sideburns?

How can I unfuck my shoulders and get rid of the tons upon tons of acne scars I have there? How can I make stretch marks go away as I lose weight?

Please help, I just want to hate myself a little less, and I'm sick of being afraid of asking about my skin.

What about dandruff? I have dry skin on my face and dandruff flakes no matter what I try. Currently using a tea tree shampoo meant for dandruff, a microbead facial scrub, and good mosturizer every day. Also an exfoliating scalp brush. The head flakes seem to come back in a few hours after my shower. Anyone have a advice, please? Do I need one of those harsh drugs from a dermatologist? Winter is going to make it way worse.

From what I can see, they're hypertrophic acne scars, left behind after the acne has gone.

Unfortunately, these things are extremely difficult to remove. They should go away on their own, but we're talking about a very long time here…in the order of months to years. It really depends on your age (the older you are, the longer it takes), diet, etc.

If you want them to disappear as quickly as possible, then you have two options as far as I understand:

1. See a dermatologist, who should be able to prescribe something to get rid of them - either some sort of chemical peel or even laser treatment.

2. Try some over-the-counter products and hope that they'd work. There are plenty out there, but it's really a matter of luck because what works well for one person might not work so well for another.

Best of luck and stay strong.

I also have trouble with keeping hair away. Facial hair is thick as fuck, and my body hair doesn't like to come off. Every time I shave, I get razor burn out the ass and it stays for weeks.

For the hair, I've considered Nair and waxing. But I'm at a los as to what to do with my skin. My body isn't generally too bad, but I do have a bit of a backne problem.

So I uses to have really bad acne. But then my routine fixed it which is

Morning –

Cetaphil facial cleanser

Cetaphil Moisturiser

Night –

Clean and Clear cleanser

Stridex Maximum pad

Cetaphil moisturiser

Once a week I will swap the clean and clear with a charcoal scrub and I have exfoliating gloves that I use on my legs and nose.

This routine fixed my horrible horrible acne but now I just have bad acne and its not fixing that. Its just flat lined. Its been like this for 2 months. Should I add anything or stop doing something? I did stop the stridex pads like last week. Skin didn't change at all :/

I believe in taking care of myself, in a

balanced diet, in a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches.

After I remove the icepack, I use a deep

pore-cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a

water-activated gel cleanser, then a honey-almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub.

Then I apply an herb mint facial masque which

I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.

I always use an after-shave lotion with little

or no alcohol because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing "protective" lotion.

Anyone know how to get rid of shadow from shaving?

I have really pale skin and dark hair, and whenever I shave unless its been a few days my face always has a shadow. If I shave the day after it feels smooth but still looks dark, upper lip is basically always like that and I fucking hate it.

I know this thread is old as fuck.. but incase anyone else see this.

Try shaving your normal way, then do another pass AGAINST the grain.

If that doesn't work, try wet shaving with a safety razor and do the first option

If all else fails, try waxing

If that still doesn't work (or too painful), your only option is probably laser

In my experience foods that are healthy and easy to digest are good. I do cardio and if I eat something bad like a pizza or something too fatty I feel bad and sluggish in my workout the day after. I try to eat things like fish and vegetable dishes and definatly avoid processed food. Eating healthy, working out and drinking a lot of water or tea is the best things you can do.

I looked in to this a while back and found stuff that is especially good for your skin and helps against aging; kiwis, carrots, almonds, blueberries, broccoli, spinach, broth, brussel sprouts, kale, liver and avocado. I could go in to detail why.

You can also try skin products although they are sometimes expensive and its hard to find the right products. Apparently CeraVe is a good and cheap brand.

damn anon, that's quite the regimine

I use Cetaphil lotion after my showers on my body, face especially.

I drink plenty of water to moisturize my skin.

I perform yoga, or go running to simulate my pores, sweat, and get blood moving.

I changed my habit of resting my hands on my face when I'm on my pc.

I change my pillow cases more often because they gather oils from your face.

I use an exfoliator in the shower.

Do NOT use shampoo every day on your body, or hair. It destroys the balance of your bodies skin scare responses.

All and all, listen to your body, your skin, and especially be mindful of overusing products. The skin is a receptor and you can damage it and make your skin worse by using a plethora of treatments.

skin care is mindfulness.

Treat your Temple with love.

Cetaphil has been a go-to for anyone I know that takes serious considering into skin health. I love that it's non scented because it just cuts a lot of bullshit out.

I have tried so many lotions for my face and legs and Cetaphil has not been beat, I doubt I'll try another brand for a while. They should hire me as a marketer at this point

If tips are welcome here (and yay! Skincare! Skincare is super important):

- Want cheap, globally available, and really good/efficient products? Go with products from The Ordinary made by Deceim. Their Natural Moisturizing Factors with Hyaluronic Acid (NMF + HA) is HG, especially for a basic, every day moisturizer than is really, really good for sensitive skin. Other products like their retinols, their Vit C, and their Azelaic Acid are really good for redness and scaring, while their toners and AHAs and BHAs are amazing. (AHAs and BHAs are different acids that help chemically exfoliate; PHYSICAL EXFOLIATION AND SCRUBS ARE BAD or at least will harm your skin in the long run if you're not careful, since a lot of them can cause microtears!)

- A lot of people swear by Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer. Do it, if you can afford it!

- I personally use Aquaphor for lips at night and it's a blessing. (Used it during isotretinoin/Accutane, and it kept my lips soft! A miracle!) The basic green label Aveno is good for a body moisturizer.

- If you want to choose a moisturizer that doesn't turn you into a greasy monster on your face, go with Asian sunscreens for their cosmetic elegance. Biore's watery essence is a favourite, but I've gone with Missha's PA++++ and that one's really nice too. Facial sunscreens are different than body ones, and they're important for healthy-looking skin!

- If the above confuses you, or if you really want good tips on skincare, then drop by reddit's r/SkinCareAddiction and r/AsianBeauty and just ask for tips? Their information pages are also super helpful if not slightly overwhelming, but they really help to guide product choices and deal with what to use, how, and when. Like, we will give you a full breakdown of routines (minimal or complex), product suggestions, ingredients that might be affecting your skin in your products, or other stuff. We're used to answering questions about what to do with oily/combo skin, or if you don't have a derm, or whatever.

Sorry for barging in on a board very not much for me, but I hope that was helpful to someone out there!

I'm a little worried about removing my ass hair based on horror stories I've heard. What are your guys' experience with chafing, razor burn (if you do shave as opposed to nair/waxing), etc? Is walking long distances uncomfortable? Also apparently ass hair serves the actual purpose of absorbing sweat and ventilating your ass crack.

Anything to reducing or removing forehead lines and wrinkles? I try not to raise my eyebrows and cause forehead wrinkles but it happens anyway. Also, any tanning I get on my face makes me look ungodly old. I try to stay out of the sun and I wear a big floppy hat and thin long sleeve shirts and pants when I have to be outside. I get made fun of, but I don't want to get a sunburn, skin cancer, or wrinkles.

>I'm a little worried about removing my ass hair based on horror stories I've heard.

I'm pretty sure those horror stories are from morbidly obese hamplanets.

>Is walking long distances uncomfortable?

No. Feels exactly the same.

>chafing

I've never had any chafing. Get different underwear if that somehow becomes a problem.

>razor burn

Exactly the same as anywhere else below the waist. It's not going to be any more or less of a problem as it is on your legs and pubes.

>Also apparently ass hair serves the actual purpose of absorbing sweat and ventilating your ass crack.

Again, obese hamplanet problems.

I know your feels, except I'm worried about nasal lobial lines. Don't think there is anything you can do to reverse it, altough possibly being young and not doing anything to get further lines aswell as getting enough collagen and elasting could hepl maybe, dunno. Being out of the sun is a good idea, but having a vitamin D deficiancy is counter productive to stop aging, so atleast take some supplements or something.

Drinking water helped my skin in every way, got really plumb, moist and clear skin.

I bet if you posted a picture of yourself here or asked close friends if they notice your forehead wrinkles they probably woulden't notice. It's probably not as bad as you think :3

What kind of foods do you eat? Ill list some of what I eat: broccoli gratin, fish with vegetables and rice, homemade pizza, chili ex carne, spaghetti pesto and ocassionaly something more fatty like fried fish with fries.

In addition to dinner I just usally eat an egg or oatmeal in the morning and then a couple slices of bread or something in the evening. I also workout a little bit each day, some walking and cycling. I'm curious, do you eat really unhealthily or a lot or is it genetics?

I take vit D daily. I go outside often. I just try to avoid direct sunlight. I'm not sure if that helps with vit D or not.

I mostly drink water.

I'm told keeping skin soft and maintaining elasticity is the key to staving off wrinkles. I'm pretty much just repeating what you said and what I have read else where.

Nice that you're doing all of those things. I bet you have amazing skin and will age well :3

I looked in to this a while back and made some conclusions of what I should try to get in to my body. I might be wrong and would love if someone with more knowledge could fill me in or tell me if I'm wrong on some points.

Vitamin C is great as it's what your body needs to create elastin and collagen. Elastin and collagen are the things that keep your skin firm, nice and young. Young people produce a lot of it while elderly make less. Some of the best sources for high ammounts of Vitamin C is Kiwis, Oranges, Broccolis, etc.

Niacin is supposedly good too, if I remember correctly it's one of the things they tested as a supplement and that had actual proven effects on betterment of your skin. You can get Niacin by eating, tunas, anchovies, chicken or lucuma powder.

Reservatol is a product found in tons of Japanese skincare products, but you dont have to take it topically. In fact topical treatments aren't really proven to help against aging except for aloe vera, green tea, Daenol (3%) and Hyaluronic Acid (vitamin C, found in a lot of serums). You can get reservatol by eating blueberries, grapes or peanuts.

I had a good experience using a biotin supplement, (brewers yeast) it made my skin look amazing, the only bad effects were that my hair and nails grew faster. I also take Maca powder and Hydralized Collagen powder for their supposed skin and health benefits. Other than supplements you can get biotin from liver, almonds and avocados.

Other stuff that they usally put in skin care supplements pills and may have an effect on your skin and your aging is: L-Glycine and L-Proline which you can get from broth and meat. L-Glutathione which you can get from milk thistle, broccoli and brussel sprouts.
